I got a little (yeah just a little) carried away with trades and it knocked my score down. (thing to remember is the game is more liberal with trading because it is a combination draft sim and game so it presents more options to move up or down to try to raise your score, for a game it still does a pretty good job of being a draft simulator, but you do have to bear in mind it is designed to be a game). I also didn't help myself at the bottom of the draft, I should have traded down to raise scores but I had too many picks already.

Yeah this thread became boring the first time a guy traded enough to get 20 plus draft picks

Yeah I have more fun when there's maybe one or two trades...the previous one I got most of my picks off two trade downs from 18 to 30 and then trading out of the 2nd round because I didn't like the value. Best scores come from keeping your trades to 1 or 2 tops. Mostly posted that last draft because I really liked the first 5 picks of it. Though the strange thing is I only picked up 4 extra day 2 picks, 1 2nd and 3 3rds..all from a total of 3 trades in the first 2 rounds.

With 12 picks as a base it doesn't take much to get up to more than you know what to do with.

Only going to post this one for 2 reasons.
    1) it will keep the purists fairly happy, only 2 extra picks via trade, a 3rd and 4th round pick.
    2) while there is no way Dee Ford drops that low I'd be EXTREMLY happy with this draft. It is almost a perfect draft from my perspective. I say almost because I missed out on a few players I wanted (I would have taken Van Der Kamp with the first pick in round 6 and then Aikens with probably my 2nd round 6 comp pick. I wanted Matthews over Moncrief (very happy with Moncrief though) and I wanted either Dion Bailey or EJ Gaines with the 1st pick of round 4 but both were already off the board).

    1. I like my 6th round picks overall. [McCarron there - I just have no idea how that happened. Norwood was McCarron's go-to guy in crunch time mostly.]
    2. Barr and KVN. Just loving it. [I know - it's just my fantasy.]
    3. No TE - that hurts a little. I compensated that with a few late WR picks.
    4. Christian Jones was a value pick for me. ILBs need some fresh blood too.

I think this one would be SUPER if it played out like this, I obviously don't see that happening but it would be pretty sweet...

Caveat is, I didn't get to draft any OL. I can't complain however - I picked up a stud TE and WR [Ebron/Matthews] on top of two blue-chip edge rushers [Dee Ford from the Sam position while KVN taking Will.] Ahmad Dixon at SS was a bonus pick for me.

Kevin Norwood is a guy I came to like a lot as of late; he lacks elite speed, but is a sure-handed WR that runs a very crisp route; and is fast enough that the DBs must respect him releasing outside. Think of Jerricho Cotchery with a little better top-end speed. I like that - he has trouble fighting off the jam for now, but since he has the frame and bulk, he can learn to use the hand techniques in due time. For now, he looks better from the slot. I really like what I read in his scouting report. With Ebron taking the middle of the field and Matthews/Decker going deep, he will have plenty of room to operate - and grow.

If McCarron can become the QB I think he can become, he'd have a lot of good weapon even after Decker leaves. [Kerley/Matthews/Ebron/Norwood/Herron] I see a good amount of potential in that kid - his mentality was a seller for me, frankly. He plays smart, and avoids unnecessary risks. [Remember Nacho chugging bone-headed INTs out of nowhere - in his own end of the field? Holy shit.] On top of the right mentality for WCO [Remember; WCO was the first offensive system ever that introduced risk management into passing game. This is a very critical piece in understanding how WCO operates.] he has a very good accuracy from short to intermediate passes. If the offense can provide him with a few staple bread-and-butter plays to live on, he will be very effective. His long balls will improve in due time, but you don't need to air it out all the time to win the football game either; having that rocket arm is a bonus in WCO, not a pre-requisite that it is in Gillman offense.

Caraun Reid pick was... well. a value pick. I would have traded down if I could - I didn't want to reach for OL that wasn't there at that pick. [Probably I should have picked an OG there in hindsight. Frankly, I wanted to trade down from Herron's spot, but there was no taker there either.]

Dri Archer is the electric punt returner Jets lacked since the departure of Leon Washington. I have high hopes for this kid.

Lastly - if Walt Aikens can live up to his potential, he will be a very good steal at 7th round.

    ---------------------------------------------------

I'd be doing cartwheels if the draft turns out like this. If Jets grab a few UDFA OLs and make a star out of them [which is not uncommon by the way; like Shaun O'Hara, Rich Seubert from Giants, Stephen Neal from the Pats, etc.] this draft would be a fantastic one that lays the foundation for the future.

Only one trade, I traded the first and 2nd pick for the 26th pick in round 1, the 6th pick in round two and two 3rd round picks.

Not my best score, but my best scores are usually drafts I don't really like the players I got. This, however is close to my favorite draft with a decent score attached. I could have boosted my score a little by not taking Thomas in the 7th, but I just like that player too much not to draft him. Bryant in the 4th was a good value pickup and was selected because the players I normally would take there were gone. I don't like my grade on Bitonio, but I told myself before the draft I'd only allow myself 1 trade down.

Okay this is a sick draft, only 1 trade down and it only netted 1 2nd round pick, so only one extra pick. My score got knocked down because I dipped 4 times in the WR but the value was just too good to pass up, especially the surprise faller for the 2nd pick of the draft (the only time I've seen him available past the first or 2nd pick of the 2nd round)

I'd Kill for this draft, almost literally....too bad it will never fall this way.
