On the topic: there's no evidence that Woody Johnson or Rex Ryan have ever been over-bearing about personnel issues. I'm sure there's a consensus building process that goes on around major decisions because that's what all good organizations do.

After years of dysfunction with players like Holmes, Revis, Tebow, etc. and locker room drama that made the Jets a circus and the media's dream, I don't understand how Jets fans don't see obvious warning signals that come with Jackson. This is not your typical free agent who was let go because of money. If so, he would have been let go weeks ago. The Eagles cut him in his prime, after his best season when the team is a likely playoff team and a contender. There is something bad here and its time for the Jets to avoid these type of players and fly under the radar. That started last year and should continue this year. Plus, the Jets are a young team and bringing in a player who polarizes the locker room is a bad move. And Vick is not a distraction. He has been nothing but a model citizen and teammate since his return to the league. If there were not major issues with Jackson off the field and/or in the locker room, he would have been swooped in a trade or signed in a heartbeat or not cut by the Eagles. While I agree that the idea of a game-breaker like Jackson sounds enticing and the vision of him giving Revis fits warms my heart, but I fear that the negatives so outweigh the positives that its not worth the risk. I'd rather draft a wideout than go down this road ......again.
