True. Although now I'm kinda not sure what's the better move.

I dont think Desean Jackson would be a distraction here . The media is the only distraction . Most of his off the field issues are all media speculation from how i see it. Even if he is a crip yall honestly think hes the only athlete that is affiliated with a gang? Hell no. Esp in the NBA. Jason Terry and Baron Davis have been crips for as long as i can remember, blatantly always throwing up gang signs during the games al the time. Do they distract their teams ? Hell no , they were always fan favorites and very well respected around the league.. JUST LIKE DESEAN is. The kid works hard, plays great. The media is constantly trying to slander someone's name. If he had a past getting in trouble for gang activity then its a understandable issue but he never did. This shit is pissing me off not because i want him here but because he's one of my favorite players to watch period.

I'm still adamant that not trading for him was the right decision, and I wouldn't sign him for more than 1 year. I don't really expect that to happen though.

Is the rumor that we offered a 4th and a 5th true?

Not a chance, based on everything I know about Idzik I didn't believe it at the time, and if the Jets offered a 4 and 5 why would the Eagles have released him, when they could have gotten two picks?

Jackson will get a multi-year deal from somebody, including the Jets. what teams will be looking for is a deal that is cap friendly in the event they want to get rid of him. but no team is going to be able to get a deal for him that is zero-risk. Jackson has value.

If Jackson goes to the Raiders maybe we can get Denarius Moore from them. They'll have Jackson, Jones, Streater, Moore and A. Holmes.

Maybe it's possible that once the article came out they realized they couldn't get a trade anymore. That's one possibility.

Moore flashed against the Jets in 2011, trust me I remember him running all over us but why bother spending a perfectly good pick on him.

If you're trying to tell me the Jets were somehow unaware of the facts in that article, I say good try but I don't buy it for a second. The Eagles would have jumped on that trade so fast there'd be flames where they were standing.

Normally I would agree but it feels like Schefter's never wrong.

So if the jets were aware of the stuff in the article, why aren't they going for him now? If I remember right we definitely were interested before, it's just whether or not we offered a pick.

I'm kind of on the fence about DJax. I think he could help us win games but don't like the idea of him bringing his issues into our locker room. Holmes was bad enough just being a diva, DJax sounds much much worse. The good thing about getting him as that frees us up in the draft to maybe not have to stretch for a WR here or there and takes the sting out of using another draft pick, maybe even a first rounder, on a CB. But it is what it is.

How hard is it to understand that Jackson CLEARLY has baggage? He is a great WR, but the Eagles felt the need to flat out RELEASE a top WR in his prime. That is not a red flag to anyone? Clearly does not sound like the kind of guy that Idzik would want to bring in. If he does, the only reason would be he feels his talent outweighs his problems. I doubt Johnny Boy feels that way though.

The Jets had "interest" and that could mean world of things. What I think is that it was basically due diligence, because if the Eagles would have accepted a late pick and Djax would have accepted a pay cut, then maybe a trade happens. You have to at least check it out. The Jets are interested in the talent, but not the price tag. As I've stated before, if Jackson is a Jet it really probably won't be for more than a 1 year deal. I also doubt Jackson will take a 1 year deal because there will be teams offering him multi year deals.

Well we've seen teams lose the offseason and win the regular season if they nail the draft. With 12 draft picks have to hope at least 8 help out.

If the jets are saving money to sign Kerley to a big deal you have to wonder what they are doing.

Then why wouldn't they do their due diligence now? Schefter says we haven't even contacted him now.

Let's exclude fan forum posters for a moment. What about the GM's, coaches and scouts that felt Simms was not worth a draft pick while some had Geno as a 1st round talent? I am all for everyone on the team having a fair shot at starting but do you really think if Simms did light it up in TC and preseason last year that the coaching staff is going to just bury him on the bench? At the very least they would have found some opportunity to showcase him as trade bait.

As far as the spellcheck, 1. What was in error with what he said? and 2. With all the people that use sure up instead of shore up, misuse to/too, their/there/they're, I could care less instead of I couldn't care less did you really tell him to use spellcheck in his other post because he typed enviornment instead of environment? I think that was an obvious typing mistake and its not like his post was littered with mistakes.

I find it hard to believe that Jackson's camp will be willing to take a one year deal that some are proposing here the last 24 hours. I am with JetBlue that it is going to take some creativity by some teams to offer him a multi-year deal while committing some guaranteed $. Despite the reports, I firmly believe that the Jets will at least contact and make some kind of an offer, whether it is a low ball offer or not. I think MM is a factor here whether he'll influence Idzik's decision to lure him in.

That's enough for me. We have a young team, I don't want Jackson poisoning our locker room with his bad habits.
