I think both teams had the advantage of a weak AFC. The AFC hit its prime in 2010 when you had a legit Jets team, a legit Ravens team, both as wildcards. I dont think last seasons Pats team was any better then the final 4 teams we saw in the AFC in 2010. Since then the division winners and wildcard have been nowhere as good. We have only seen 1 wildcard winner despite 6 games played (Chargers last playoffs). Look at 2011, the friggin Ravens had to beat a Texas team lead by TJ Yates, and the Patriots had to beat a Broncos team lead by Tebow. Like how god awful is that? I think in 2014 we see the return of some powerhouses like the Steelers, Ravens. Hopefully the Patriots and Broncos actually have some tough competition next year.
I guess the only difference is that the Pats found their real x factor in late round and the Spurs were gifted two giant interior stars with that lottery deal. Al ways wondered how that happened that way
I didn't mean to hijack this into an NFL thread btw. I think the Heat could still get the #1 seed, which I kind of want them to do if the Bobcats keep the 7 seed. I guess they'll probably meet the Pacers either way though. In the other conference, I think the Clippers could really surprise, but really any of the seeds will have a good shot. It feels like OKC vs SA will happen again though. I'm not a fan of facing them. I feel like they're boring to watch, save a few of the finals games last year, and I don't understand how they just always win, despite being old, injured often, (at least this year) and lacking true elite stars.

Detroit vs. Philly tonight. If Philly loses then they'll have the worst losing streak in all 4 major sports and MLS.
Wow thats some BS, Thunder play Sunday and dont play again until Thursday against the Spurs. Meanwhile the Spurs play today, go to Indiana monday, host Golden State Wednesday, and then have to go to OKC the next day. I guarantee you Pop will not play any of the starters Thursday night off a back to back.
You are wrong. I am almost certain a starter will play. If Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili play Wednesday, they will likely sit Thursday, though. It's a TNT game, so I expect the three of them not to play. So that's two of the starters sitting, plus Ginobili. Maybe Diaw will get the night off as well, as another bench player.
Umm Green kinda hurt himself, I doubt Parker and Duncan play. Splitter might play, same with Kawhi but thats up in the air. Pop is prolly pissed about the B2B while OKC gets 3 days off. Spurs have a 3 game lead with 10 games left. If they could with the next 3 it would be a 3 game lead with 7 games left. I think at that point the game in OKC loses some value.
ummm, I didn't say anything about Green. He's missed 2 of the last 3 games (and missed a good chunk of the other game). I'm referring to the current lineup of Duncan-Parker-Leonard-Splitter-Belinelli I bet at least one plays.
Man I'm starting too really hate them. All this losing and the Lakers will most likely end up picking first anyways
road tail end of b2b big 3 always sit, plus it's a TNT game I always assume the three will not play when it's a TNT game
U said that last time and they played. Popovich hates the B2B and we are now a couple weeks from the playoffs, the last thing we need is an injury. Popovich has the team where it needs to be at.
I said he likes to sit them for TNT games. That is a fact. I'm not sure what your point is. When there's a back to back, he can choose which game to sit them. If there's a back to back with a TNT game, he always sits them for the TNT game. Most of the San Antonio games that have been on TNT the last few seasons have featured the Spurs resting multiple players.
