http://www.csnphilly.com/football-p...py-after-deseans-release?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo why do I get the feeling you will attempt to rationalize his comment not to mean that he is happy that Jackson was released, simply that he is happy about the direction of the team, despite the fact that the direction he is referring to includes getting rid of Jackson. you haven't seen any of the things you are asking others to provide you because you haven't looked. you kind of need to know these things before disputing anyone's assertion that they exist.
I heard it was nj.com that was responsible and that that story supposedly (according to ESPN'S Sal Palantonio) scared off the Eagles. Whatever...
He has million dollar talent coupled with a 10 cent mind. Who keeps $250,000 and some other bling in their house so their entourage can rip them off. If we sign him I hope it's a 2 year deal that we can easily get out of like the Revis deal in NE.
I saw somebody today state that multiple teammates were celebrating the departure of Jackson, and all he could produce was what you just posted. Jackson sort of strikes me as a dick but one teammate sort of making a positive spin on team direction doesn't really indicate anything except that maybe they didn't like each other. And yes I said dick but.
Rationalize? Not at all, I'm not that invested in whatever is done here. I saw the Kelce quote earlier and didn't make a decision either way on exactly what he meant, I also haven't seen any other player quoted at all and certainly no one interviewed. Everything is so damn vague but that's all anybody here needs to take a hard stand it seems. Still Fact: Jackson is a playmaker. Everything else here is still speculation.
I don't think there will be widespread public celebration, it just isn't what athletes do. But take Vick's comments in conjunction, that hopefully Jackson uses this to mature and get his football life in order, and it is hard to argue against the claim that Jackson wasn't a model citizen for the Eagles and likely a team distraction. What else could Vick's comments be intimating other than negative behavior from Jackson?
Maybe if he'll take a one year deal with us, we can see if he can keep is nose clean and if Geno can have chemistry with a true #1 receiver. Somewhere in the 6-8 million range.
He sounds like a Bozo, but that doesn't make him a bad guy. Everything is relative. I've got $2500 hanging around and I'm sure he makes 100 times as much as I do. What's the difference?
of course it is speculation. the question is is it baseless speculation. you seem to want to take the position that unless specific evidence is cited by the team and coaches and players than nothing can be reasonably drawn by what they do say. that's a ridiculous position. teams, coaches and players hardly air specific dirty laundry in the public. that would mean your expectation would be more unreasonable than the speculation.
I haven't seen Vicks comment so I'll look those up and try to understand what it means, but Kelces comments on Twitter could just as easily be talking about the signing of Sproles and additions to the playbook or something. It probably just means that he doesn't like Jackson but to assume you know what he is saying is presumptuous
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vi...8-clip05.sportsillustrated/?xid=si_topstories Marlon Wayans is no happy.
No, you're trying to make it a black/white issue where it's just different shades of gray. Without some evidence I don't have enough information to make a decision on whether any of his behaviors are egregious enough to turn one's back on a guy who is such an asset on the field.
no, it isn't presumptuous. it means something, and it isn't presumptuous to attempt to understand what it means for the sake of discussion. he made a comment in specific reference to the release of a player, it is extremely reasonable to speculate his opinion of the player based on that. here are Vick's comments, they were in the article I previously linked to: "I think sometimes it takes a change in your life to understand really what needs to happen, and the course that needs to be set," Vick said. "Maybe it's time for a change for DeSean to help him understand the maturation process of his young NFL life and his personal life. Whatever happens, I will continue to be a great friend to him and try to help him as much as I can mentor-wise so he doesn't have to go through any situations that may be detrimental to his life." as for Vick, is it presumptuous to believe he is stating that Jackson has behaved immaturely in his NFL life if he is stating he needs to understand the maturation process? of course not.
What it tells me is he may be supporting his Gangsta's criminal behavior with the spare cash. That NJ.com article was very specific and not a bad read either, read the whole article. DJax is a very high risk right now, and to make comparisons. Is Decker being caught up in the news like this guy? No he is not, and he is not as talented as Djax but he is talented enough!
I keep seeing these posts and there are just too many flaws in that thinking. Unless you expect the Jets to be vying for the Super Bowl next year why do you want him on a 1 year deal? I don't think there is any way he agrees to a one year deal and certainly not in the $6M-$8M range. Even if he does take a 1 year deal and if he does take it in the $6M-$8M range then what happens if keeps his nose clean, has chemistry with Geno and he tears it up this season with 1700 yards and 15 TDs then what, the Jets the gave him exposure so he could go to the highest bidder. The only reason I could see for this is to give a 1st round WR time to develop behind him but even in that regard having Jackson could backfire if he does not tear it up and is a bad influence. The Jets FO just needs to interview him and do some digging of their own, if it seems like it is mostly trumped up then make a decent multi year offer with a respectable amount guaranteed and out if anything does happen 6 months or a year down the road
You think it means something because you have already made a judgment about his character in this thread and it is easy to see. Kekce made a pretty vague comment and you are trying to state that it is a defining comment. That is presumptuous. As far as those comments from Vick, I like what he says because it means more about Vick to me than it does about Jackson, although Desean is most likely an immature person. That doesn't mean he is a gang banger
Sorry he is "no happy" 1. He has never been funny. 2. He hasn't been relevant for years 3. Is he a GM? 4. This post is stupid
Marlon Wayans was never funny. He made a career out of holding onto the frayed threads dragging behind Keenan's coat tails.
