Missed a meeting?.....flat tire?...overslept? Ok, whatever, those things happen.

Missed more than one meeting? I don't know if talent alone trumps the possibility of him going the petulent diva route should he decide to get a hair across his ass which is a distinct possibility. Yes he would expand the Jets options in the upcomming draft, but Brandon Cooks-in-the-fold wouldn't exactly be chopped liver either. I am so much more amped at the prospects that we can grab come May 8th.

@Rand_Getlin: The #Chiefs, #Jets and #Raiders are all pursuing former #Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, per a league source.

If true, our only real competition is Andy Reid in Kansas City. They just lost McCluster and it makes a whole lot of sense.

Our angle obviously being an open spot too, Vick and Marty

Oakland I dont agree with, they just have money. They aint shit lol

If we land Jackson I will laugh at all you idiots claiming Idzik should have spent all this money on guys like Nicks and James Jones. All the bitching that we sat on our hands and spent nothing.

If this happen, we have signed the best 2 free agent WRs on the market, potentially a top 5 in the league and the best backup QB available.

They have the same money that got them Jones and MJD. We were interested in both but wouldn't pony up the cash. Hopefully Vick and MM will help us out

I honestly think he will either sign with Chiefs or Jets. Chiefs because of Andy and Jets because of MM and Vick. Don't think another team will be as favorable in Desean's eyes.

@Steiny31: #Jets WR Coach Sanjay Lal was an offensive assistant at Cal in 2005 and 2006, where he coached DeSean Jackson. #nyj

There is so many connections with us and him lol

Vick is said to be like a big brother to him.

MM coached him when he was in Philly.

Sanjay Lal coached him in California.

    He needs to sign here

Yep it's awesome! I was surprised to hear Sanjay finally may be helpful to us. Problem we may run into is that oakland will probably throw a long term deal his way while us and KC will give him a 1 year deal.
If he is okay with the 1 year deal he may want to play for a proven contender such as SEA or San Fran. I'm staying optimistic but won't get my hopes up too much.

Wow looks like DJack to the Jets is a common phrase on twitter right now .. If we were to sign him what do you think we offer him? More than Decker? Same as decker ? Maybe a Jarred Allen type deal ?

there simply is no basis to claim we will only offer him a one year deal any more than to claim we will offer him a 10 year deal.

I love have insecurity drives fans to simply make up claims just so they can have something to worry about.

If Desean takes Deckers deal, Idzik will be a god in my eyes. That deal 100% favors the Jets lol

Jackson is absolutely not the kind of player Idzik wants in terms of character, salary or the way to build a team. If we do indeed sign him it just means Woody's impatience and greed trumps Idzik's long term plan and philosophy similar to how Woody forced Tebow upon Tannenbaum. Woody needs to fire himself next as Woody will always put creating headlines, and publicity winning long term.

I missed the part where Woody Johnson said he personally overruled his front office and insisted on bringing Tebow to the Jets.

Fact: Jackson is a playmaker. The rest is all speculation.
