Do you guys think Woody would override Idzik on this one if Idzik wanted nothing to do with DeSean? How would this affect the team going forward if not everybody in the FO was on board......???
I guess I should clarify and say I think both thuggish behavior and poor teammates are immaturity issues that in cases like Jackson's happen to be interconnected.
My first instinct would be to agree with you, but this story and all the talk about this is insane. This specific allegations were never heard until now. It seems like pure character assassination and the eagles putting something out there to calm there fan base.
Somebody should make an app called iBob that tracks trending sports news stories for several days and then makes random predictions about the outcomes comfortable in the knowledge that a few of them will be true.
If Woody Johnson really does want D-Jax and Idzik says no then he'd be fired. Why would an Owner deal with that? That's why I dont believe it.
The work ethic and meetings angle has apparently been making the rounds in Philly for more than a year now. Basically since Andy Reid left town.
First of all Woody may think Jackson could be a good idea but he pays Idzik to manage the team and make football decisions. If he fired Idzik over that he'd be truly the dumbest owner in the league. I'm not saying believe the post, because his track record speaks for itself and I think Idzik would bring in damn near anyone at the right price.
Been questions for weeks, you heard little things here and there, now it's being portrayed like he's the ultimate pain in the ass. They are killing this guy like its matter of fact, when two days ago no one had much insight into his attitude about anything. Seems suspect to me.
Definitely little suspect that the NJ.com report comes out before he's released, almost as if they planted that story to justify his release.
Post of the day, I am afraid. The logic is impeccable. I have read a scenario "explaining" why Philly would cut him. It was not that persuasive. Unless you add this.
I've spoken to enough Eagles fans to get a better impression too. The talent and what he can do can't be denied, but there seems to be a lot that can and does get in the way of that. What's suspicious is that the Eagles released their biggest playmaker who is in his 20's and coming off of a big year and were not able to get even a 7th round pick for him
We don't know the extent of that reaching out. Maybe the agent said "$18m/year for 5 years, we will not entertain any counter-offers. You have thirty minutes to accept." We just don't know that he came to the Jets willing to play for the kind of deal they accepted from the Patriots.
