Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 51s Houston Texans reached agreement on two-year deal with former Dolphins S Chris Clemons, per source. #Markman50
I enjoyed watching the team play in AFC Championship games more than I do watching Sheldon Richardson and this team going 8-8. I'm giving Idzik more time to build a good team but I don't like what he has done up to this point.
Same. The Jets were apparently interested too. I think he would have been a great add to the defense.
We sign a practice squad player Jeremey Reves and think what?this guys gonna end up starting?I hate college highlight reels ,Vernon Gholston had an amazing college highlight reel to
Sadly it appears the Texans just signed Chris Clemons. One of our last hopes of upgrading our secondary.
The only good thing about this post is that it is so badly worded that I didn't bother to figure out what it meant
I'm a Cyclone fan and watched a lot of Jeremy Reeves over his (and my) college years, so I thought I could offer some insight. He was the #1 corner on a 2012 Iowa State defense that was the only team in the Big XII not to allow more than 35 points in any game. Not an eye-popping number, but it's pretty good when you consider Baylor, West Virginia (with Geno Smith), Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma were all on the schedule. He was tasked with covering top guys and did a very good job. On occasion his height would get the best of him, particularly when he would try for the interception, but most of the time he was a very reliable cover corner. My favorite memory/highlight of Reeves is when Iowa State went to #8 Kansas State at the end of the 2011 season. The Wildcats used a post route on back to back plays to try to expose his height, but he was able to use that impressive speed and 43" vertical to close on the ball and knock it away. I went and found the clip for you guys. Edit: Apparently the clip didn't cue like I thought, The clip is around 37:13. I see him barely making the roster as a special teams gunner with potential to grow into a slot corner role. His coverage skills are really quite good, but I just don't know how much you can trust him against even bigger and more athletic NFL receivers on the outside. I'm excited to see how he does in training camp.
Is Reeves our Captain Munnerlyn? Replacement for when Kyle Wilson's contract expires? Hope so..this is the kind of guy you can root for
We had ample time to go after Clemons and he signed for practically nothing, which means we are content with what we have and what we're eyeing in the draft.
Meh, he wouldn't even have been a lock to start. Antonio Allen has been progressing nicely and Landry knows Rex's defense inside out.
