And the Knicks were idiotic to retain JR. Don't even get me started on the Chris fiasco. As for JR he never had guns registered and car titles in his name found in connection to a murderer.

Jackson clearly was on bad terms with the Eagles organization. His on-field antics are pretty ridiculous too. Given the huge contract you really can't behave in such a manner - the combination of poor behavior and a big contract puts the success of the team at risk.

It shows to me that the Eagles are working to become a class organization.

What would you say about the Pats if they signed him?

I think it's a fair and interesting question to evaluate whether employing a criminal whose illegal behavior (even if it's just nonviolent behavior like marijuana ) doesn't directly negatively impact the teams performance is more or less ethical than having a player that is a disruptive and poor teammate.

Already several of his ex-teammates on the Eagles are twittering that they are thrilled to see him gone. So I don't think it is not necessarily about he $. Its more than that. May have a clean record but something is not going well inside the clubhouse between D Jax and his teammates and team...Just try to convince me what would change if he were here with the Jets other than he is talented WR that we desperately need.

Don't know how I feel about the gang stuff. I took a quick look around and it isn't exactly a one off thing, there are lots of photos of him with known gang members and throwing up gang signs. As far as we know he hasn't actively committed any crimes like Hernandez but I think it would be a blight on the organization if we signed him knowing of this type of mentality and then he ends up getting charged for some gang activity.

On the flip side if we have the opportunity to add him and he can put up some good numbers for us that's what it's all about. We're about winning football games not attempting to get sainthood.

Might be a moot point because if there is a bidding war you know Idzik probably isn't going to be at the top of that list. That being said: we got Decker who was highly sought after. And Vick is here and they apparently have a very good relationship.

You said thuggish behavior not involving murder when people tried to make the comparison of what Jackson has done/did/possibly did? vs what Hernandez....and I brought up JR Smith who technically has done nothing wrong but has done some stuff like gang posing on the court, threaten a player on twitter with death threats about "Knowing people in Detroit" who made fun of his brother and actually getting into fights(Vs Nate Robinson probably the most known and he also swung at Jason Terry in the playoffs last year). Add that to him partying it up in the middle of the night less than 10-12 hours before a game and it is arguably worse than what Jackson has actually done(Still not concrete about Jackson's involvement in a murder/these murders)

I agree the Knicks are biting the bullet with JR Smith after his solid year last year and how JR got his bro a payday on the team is pretty lousy but Jackson has much more talent and is the better player than JR Smith is at his sport.

Might call some of my Number street homies an put #Detroit on smash for a min!#DeadSerious

I guess you are trying to create a liberal narrative but teams tend to sign bad teammate style players before they sign criminals so it appears that they disagree with you

[quote"VanderbiltJets, post: 2972173, member: 12820"]The eagles knew about his associations and gave him a contract extension. Clearly the situation has worsened.[/quote]
It hasn't clearly worsened. If it clearly worsened there would be reportsreports staging that. There are assumptions that something has gotten wors

now me personally could careless about his gang affiliation,to what ever extent it might be. Sorry, but not everyone is friends with boy scouts and choir boys. Hell there are men and women in our military that have gang ties too.

Sign him for like $12M for 1 year (similar to Pats/Revis) ... Evaluate DeSean during that time. Low-risk.

Post the tweets with guys saying they are "thrilled to see him gone" all I've seen is one saying it was an unpopular opinion but they like the direction of the team which is a pretty general comment and a few saying other vague things. Not one tweet I've seen has said "glad DJax is gone, he's a cancer in the locker room" or anything remotely like that.

Its crazy 2 hours ago people were gushing over this guy -- and now 1 report comes out naming "sources" and then his immediate release and people totally change there mind and calling him a thug.

The meetings are coming to an end in Orlando, no one will trade for him at his asking price or salary so only thing they can do is release him. I am sure there are "other" reasons for the release but this gang tie report is an extra attempt for the franchise to save face with the fan base.
