it wasnt ignored. She got called out on it and if you look for the interview right after that dance, the reporter asked her what that was about (obviously not knowing) and I believe she said its something she use to do and you can tell from the look on her face she f'ed up, especially after losing a love one to gang violence, her HALF SISTER.
I'm not going to cry if we sign a top-ten WR, in the prime of his life, coming off a career year, because there's speculation that he has gang affiliations in a league that's full of guys with less than reputable character. Desean Jackson would help us win games, and until he does something egregious enough to remove all doubt that he's a miscreant, I welcome him.
Personally, I'm in this camp...I say a big HELL NO! Right or wrong Jackson has, at some point, associated and/or IS associating with the gangs. People, on this board, who choose to dismiss that have to have the DEEP GREEN goggles on. I want no part of it. I certainly do not want to enable this guy by giving him millions of dollars either. The risk far outweighs the reward, in my opinion, and...as always happens...nothing may happen to Jackson but what about some teammate who is hanging out with him. It's always the innocent bystander that gets "tapped!" Didn't the Aaron Hernandez thing teach anyone anything. The cycle has to be stopped and I choose to do so now... And, Soxxx, I don't see anyone being released because anyone associated with Tim Tebow or Urban Meyer. I see DJackson being released, in his prime...coming off a FANTASTIC year...ideal for the offense he is already in...with ZERO....ZEEEERROOO...compensation! That sends up all the red flags I need to see. Let some other team jerk around with this guy. The Jets have enough problems without introducing that into our locker room and on our team.
If we don't sign D Jax it would be a loss..... How would you fee if NE signed him? Yea, exactly, we need a big acqusiiton, not #2 pretty boy WR erick Decker.
so the Jets should sign every player based on how fans would feel if New England signed them. what a ridiculous position.
True. But we're talking arguebly Philly's best offensive weapon and they just let him walk. So whatever it is that's the cause of this, is something so disruptive that they don't care to send him away from the division and/or get something for him? It's just not adding up for me
This was a weird situation because the dance originated from the crips, but it kind of become a dance move that really doesn't have gang relations anymore. It's weird because the origin is from the gang, but the time period it was used when Serena did it, was more a dance move/fad. Either way, I do think Serena doing that is very different than what Desean did because of context. If the NJ.com report is accurate, which Desean in his official statement said is not accurate, the context of his hand sign is worrisome if that makes sense?
an alleged crip will not do good in nyc. He needs to stay away from a signing of a ny team imo. NYC is full of bloods and since this story is now out, its best the JETS ignore him.
ESPN radio reported that Philly discovered new information that led to the release, implying that they already knew about his gang ties. Aaron Hernandez lite?
The new information is what I think everyone is leaning towards. The NJ.com goes back some years, so my speculation is that something new occurred leading them to this.
This may be it: two djax associates are suspects in LAPD murder case. Edit: I'm an idiot it appears all the info is out there already. Who would want a player who missed meetings and slacked off *because* of gang members?
true, but that wasn't his position. his position was to sign him based on how we would feel if New England signed him instead. I'd feel the same way about that as if he signed with any other team.
