Hanging out with gang members is not a big deal, Francesa has just completely lost touch with society that he believes talking to the crips is a crime. Its really not that big of a deal, its not professional, but it isnt like these NFL players are trying to be like doctors or laywers.
oooo, forgot about what he did to Hall throwing it up. Hall slapped his hand down like "you fool." When he did that I yelled this fool is stupid .That right there was a warning but most white people didnt know what it meant so it went unnoticed just like Serena's crip walk dance a couple of years ago after she won US OPEN. (link posted earilier reminded me of this incident)
Jackson house was robbed last January though if you recall. Keep him away from teams like the 49ers, Bucs, Cardinals, any teams that wears red.
The Pats do better when they've got alleged murders who-can't-be-convicted-because-their-crews-won't-rat-on-them. Although he may have gang connections, there's no clear indication that Jackson's been involved in criminal activity, so he wouldn't exactly fit their bill. It is a long off-season though, and this move is kind of sudden, so there might actually be something going around that isn't publicly reported yet. Seriously though, its my hope that Jackson has moved or is moving beyond these connections. In addition to his on-the-field talent (which is very good, if not top-16), Jackson's got a lot of financial and social capital to burn. He could do a lot of good. Wherever he lands, hope that he learns something from others' mistakes, including Vick's, and tries to live better. Or at least improve his image. About the Jets' signing him, if the contract's fair and Jackson's off-the-field issues and image problems are being resolved, why not?
Apparently he still has ties or association with the gang. But I think there is more story to that. Eagles are aware of something. Additonally, DJax was suspended several times over the last 4 years with the team for whatever reasons. He apparently hasn't learned from this and has not adjusted to change not only his behavior but there have been reports that he continues to stay in connection to the gang. Before we jump on Idzik to get him, let the staff look more into this a little carefully. I am sure many teams will too. Why are the Eagles releasing him without getting anything in return especially with his explosive talents still on the rise?
not the point. you attempted to minimize the meaning of his gang signs by comparing them to the fact that you have also held up your fingers, as if the two different acts are somehow the same simply because they both involve holding up fingers. apples are green. leaves are green. therefore apples are leaves.
I don't necessarily hold someone's past against them if they have changed. Going through life, even if a belief that someone can redeem themselves comes back and bites you, what's the alternative? We are all sinners of one sort or another. You can't live a reasonable life not believing that people can redeem themselves. So for me, that covers Vick. Sounds like these issues with Jackson are ongoing, though. Hm. If that were the case, I would be concerned.
Jackson has a good record, im not opposed to the Jets signing him. Unless we have evidence he is involved in crimes, which I dont have, so I am not going to assume it.
That's what my gut says right now, too. But I'm really hoping that's not the case. Hate to see this -- kids doing supremely stupid shit.
sure, hanging out with gang members doesn't inherently mean you are part of the gang. but what the hell does it mean when you flash the exact same gang sign that those gang members flash to show people you are part of the gang?

Congrats Idzik. You were patient. You let things come to you and didn't trade picks when you didn't have to. Now...
