not true. he turned the ball over when he had talent to throw to. it just got worse when the team around him got worse. but he didn't go from a QB that avoided mistakes when he had talent to a turnover prone QB when the talent was depleted.
he turned it over in bunches as a rookie w/ decent talent around him while learning the NFL games. 15 of his 20 INTs came in 4 games. In 2010 talent went way up and he drastically cut down on TOs and even had 2 bogus ones count against him(from the GB game). 2011 talent went down, TOs went up but TDs were way up. 2012 talent was rock bottom, TOs were high. He's never going to be a 35 TD and 7 INT guy but he could be a guy that doubles his TDs over TOs. 25-12, 30-15. Not all TOs are created equally, some hurt and others don't. I don't concern myself w/ the #s alone as much as I do w/ how those #s were earned.
It would be real interesting to see how Sanchez does in Philly with great coaching and better talent. I think he has the potential to be more of a 22-12 guy but honestly who knows. I like Foles and dont want him to get hurt but I wouldnt mind seeing Sanchez jump in for 5 games.
So lets say Mark throws an interception at around mid field and the defense makes the other team punt. Do you judge that differently than if Mark threw an INT that the defense eventually gave up a TD on?
Welp... Im happy this era is done. It was fun for the first two seasons. Our receivers/O-line sucked the next two seasons so maybe he still has a chance to reach his peak somewhere else. Idk about in philly though because Foles is mistake free for the most part .
First of all who says Mark never had good coaching or talent here. Again these obstinate excuses by his fanbase. If he does poorly there then the same people will blame it again on the Eagles coaching staff and teammates. How many coaches does Mark have to go through to make these people even consider it's the player's fault. BOL and goodbye!
He never had good offensive coaching. He had good offensive talent in 2010 but its been average at best other than that. Are you a schotty or Sparano fan? I love Rex but he doesnt do dick for an offense.
Matt Lombardo @MattLombardo975 · 47m ago The Philadelphia Eagles & Mark Sanchez have come to terms, bringing the veteran QB to backup Nick Foles. #EaglesTalk http://fb.me/6z4nC8nlI the holdup was they wanted to check out his surgically repaired shoulder.
How many coacbes does Mark need to become a good player. It doesn't matter: it's up to him. The OC doesn't make you throw a ball up right to a defensive back. It's up to the player to study film, learn to read defenses, not turn the ball over and lead scoring drives. Something in over 60 starts Mark could not consistently do. BOL to the guy glad he's not here. PS if he sucks with the Eagles whose fault will it be then?
Now that Sanchez is officially an Iggle, I'll be moving his threads to the NFL section for further discussion.
