Wasn't the Nelson getting an extension an incorrect report? I think he is just on the second year of the two year deal he signed in the middle of the season. I could be wrong.

Meaning he still has a lot of years left in the league. People were claiming that he looks / runs awkward and doesn't know how to use his big frame / long arms to his advantage. Was saying that he still has time to grow into / learn how to his frame better. Which backs why I think Hill still has potential and would be wroth the roster spot over Nelson ( if it ever came down to one or the other ).

No,.. You are correct ser. The Nelson "extension" happened at the beginning of the season and made it a 2 year deal. 2015 he's a FA.

This thread is going off track but the discussion on Hill is interesting so I will add my thoughts in with the Pro Hill jets fans.

I understand, it is VERY frustrating to see someone so talented like Hill underperform. That being said we all knew should have known what he was when he was drafted and I am surprised to see so many people write him off after 2 years. The potential to excel at this level is there. Does he need to build his confidence and take big steps forward...YES. But you don't give up on someone with so much potential because he did not have an immediate positive impact on our team.

He has a long way to go to being the receiver we need him to be but it would be foolish to cut him without seeing him play next season. To put things into perspective Hill is younger then 1st-2nd round prospect Kelvin Benjamin. If Hill was still in college and played where Benjamin played we would be drooling at the prospect of having him here. Hill is still quite raw but if a raw and older prospect like Benjamin is worth a low 1st rounder a player like Hill should still not get cut due to impatience on our part.

Based on recent reports it seems that Hill's time is running short so many of you anti Hill fans might get want you want soon enough. It is just a shame to think of yet another draft pick wasted because we did not have the environment capable of developing raw talent.

To me Kerley is underrated. And a guy we should incorporate more into the offense. He can be a slot receiver and play a Welker role on this team. But he was underutilized. He should have 80 to 100 receptions.

We don't have a QB capable of doing so.

Sure we do. We have two Qbs with experience now in the WCO. Make that 3 if you count Matt Simms and I do. Quick fast short throws on timing patterns. I think Kerley can handle it.

I agree with the article, and it's one reason I've got a fair amount of hope for Geno as well since he is so young. To get to WR 1 type status, however, Hill would have to make some of the most incredible jumps in history over the next 2 years. Maybe he will improve more in 3-4 years but his contract will be up by then, and who knows where he will be.
