it is CBG...great pick up..and it has every pro on the edge of their seats right now..trust me. Every pro is praying the second low further out to sea wins the battle..but no winner yet..pouring snow in south jersey..entering central jersey Here is the link CBG is talking about: http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...+NJ&showstorms=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0&MR=1
Now CBG..if you draw a line from Philly to NYC...the band seems stuck..wants to go north but has not..does it break through is the answer whether or not north jersey...nyc..your spot...gets several inches..or more. Thats the question. It needs to break through in the next 4 hours.
I saw that,,,,,,Jay,,,I will be on for a while watching the radar and reading this thread,,,,,,maybe winter aint quite ready to leave us just yet,,,,,? Jay how will we be able to tell if this thing is moving inward, west or towards NYC and us ? Just keep watching ? and why withinin the next 4 hours ? ,,,ummmmmm KEEP EM COMING
You want to see that precip field to the south of NYC moving towards the north and west..its stuck right now..and if it stays there? The models did well my friend..very very good job..but thats what we are watching for. I did not expect to be checking this out tonight but said to myself..hmm...awfully close.
Jay my facebook page is starting to lite up,,,,,people say it is flurry ING in Manasqaun,,,snowing in Middletown,,,,,,,I will go look Jay,,,,,sit tight
and now this...so its a bit further west then thought. Now how far does it go? "Winter Storm Warning in effect until 2 am EDT Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow, which is in effect until 2 am EDT Wednesday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect. Snow accumulations: snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches with local amounts of up to 6 inches. Locations: portions of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Central and Southern Delaware and Southeastern and eastern New Jersey. Hazard types, snow. Timing: snow will continue, and could fall moderately to heavy at times this evening before ending overnight. Impacts: roadways may be wet initially, but as temperatures drop during the night combined with a steady snow. Untreated surfaces will become slippery and snow covered. Remember, bridges and elevated surfaces tend to ice up first. Winds: north 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Temperatures: in the lower 30s."
so Jay,,,,,is NYC going to get more than an inch or 2 ? Did the big guys totally blow this forecast or is it too early to tell,,,?
too early CBG..will know in about 2 to 3 hours. Down south though? Yes..its more west and does that translate north? Not sure...but has to be watched.
my friends in South Jersey are all chiming in,,some have flurries,,,thats BKLYN also and some in South NJ say snowing good,,,or bad depending where u stand on this stuff,,,lol
Now 2 things can happen. You have 2 lows..and they will tighten in to 1. When that happens..or happens even more because it has begun, the storm begins to tighten around the center..and the precip will begin to pull towards the dominating low. If it starts to snow..and I believe everyone close to i95 it will, if it just stops then the dominating low is more east and its over...then the heavy winds pick up. I doubt at this time it gets pulled much farther north...but hey..I could be wrong. Still think it will start snowing by you shortly. Im getting flurries now.
hey CBG..you notice all of your posts are doubles? Last night of the year and it looks like you are trying to pad the numbers? lol.
