I doubt they would have reworked Goodsons contract just to get rid of him. With the restructure he counts $1.28M against the cap which is low for someone of his skills. Makes no sense to get rid of him.

I want to see one year of the trio of Ivory, Powell, and Goodson together. We are set at RB.

I'm kind of in the "we're fine at RB" camp as well. Don't really understand the desire to get MJD or use a draft pick on one unless it's like a 6th rounder or they can do some returns or something.

IMO the offensive line is more of a concern then RB. no need to even sniff at the possibility until rounds 6/7.

I think you draft a Dri Archer or De'Anthony Thomas for insurance Goodson is a no go. I really believe we can fill a lot of these holes via draft. Makes me think D-Jax isn't worth the headache or price. MJD is far too old, and I think Powell can do what MJD will do for us on 3rd down because that's all MJD will be doing.

Instead of acquiring D-Jax and MJD we should look at Marquis Lee and De'Anthony Thomas to fill those roles. More yrs and cheaper price.

Am with you here--MJD is a guy on the very backside of his career and there isn't a dynamic playmaking back on this team. Powell, Goodson and Ivory is just such an underwhelming combo. I would absolutely love a guy like Dri Archer or Thomas--a guy that could hit a homerun every once in a while.

clearly they aren't counting on Goodson or there would be no need for the MJD talk.

Then why are they interested in MJD?

MJD would be great on passing downs, like a 3rd and 5 have him come in and throw a screen pass or route designed for him.I think he can be very effective that way

Bigger third down/goal line bruiser so Ivory doesn't need to take the entire load

Why restructure a guy on your roster when your plans are to release him?

How many backs do you think they are going to carry this year? If they are building through the draft they will need those roster spots with 12 DPs.

If this team signs MJD, Goodson is as good as gone.

didn't they restructure Goodson because of lost playing the or something, there was some bonus related to the games he's played he didn't earn I believe.

Archer or Thomas would would also be able to return kicks also, and as you said take a screen to the house. Prob in better fashion then MJD at this stage.

Id like to see us sign Miles Austin,Thomas Decoud or Chris Clemons ,and maybe Owen Daniels as far as free agents that are left and won't be very expensive.Miles Austin would be a great redzone target.Clemons was the 9th ranked saftey in pass coverage according to profootball focus. And what about Carlos Rodgers?

Yeah im all for Austin. He would come cheap, has some good upside if he can play a good amount of games. Hes from jersey to.
