I'm not sure it is, because Philly has said that they will release DJax if they can't trade him, that he won't be returning to Philly.
What is not addressed anywhere is if the team holding the contract can give consent to the player having discussions with one or more teams, thereby waiving the tampering provisions. I believe it would not be in the best interest of the league to deny such consent.
The players team can give consent, it happens all the time where teams discuss contract revisions before the trade is finalized. The teams will generally come to terms on compensation, whether it be draft picks or players, contingent upon the team getting the player coming to terms on a new contract. Jets let Revis talk to TB before the trade last year.
You clearly don't know what a star is, but okay. If a 1,000 yard receiver is a star, then Brian Hartline has been a star for 2 years now. Kendall Wright is a star. The mighty Harry Douglas is a star. Do the math on what 1,000 yards in a season is. An average of 62.5 yards per game is your definition of a star. So yes, if you want to go to the statistics, then I'm right. If you want to make up nonsense like you do in every single post you make, then you are most definitely right in your fantasy world.
Ok, thanks. My bad. I thought I had read in one of those articles that they had officially said it. "Sources" could be like Mehta's sources.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN 32s Would be good addition for #NYJ RT @ProFootballTalk Jets, Patriots, Dolphins, Steelers in play for Maurice Jones-Drew http://wp.me/p14QSB-9rGZ
Surprised at the lack of MJD mentions today. Personally, I think he'd be a reasonable pick-up although I have some concerns that someone with his mileage may not want to trust an unproven OL. We may speed up the end of his career.
i'd definitely be happy with MJD he's got miles obviously, but in jacksonville he went up against 8 men front every week. i think he's be a beneficial signing
MJD had a massive drop in his career average YPC coming back from injury last year. I worry that he's done. MJD of old sounds great but I'd be very weary of this one and given the fact that he's still a FA it seems NFL GM's are too. I wouldn't go much more than vet min here.
I'd imagine Powell would be the odd-man out unless Goodson is done with legal troubles. I was never very impressed with Powell but I'm not sure I'd want to quit on him for a worn down RB.
Rotating backs with the hot hand receiving more carries, I see Powell & Goodson being used more as 3rd down backs catching the ball out of the backfield.
I'd guess he would take carries away from Powell. All three are good but none have shown they are reliable #1 backs. Some people think that MJD would be the third down back but I don't see that at all. I'd say MJD/Ivory combo with Powell getting some spot carries. Goodson if he's back would be the 3rd down back. Wouldn't rule out drafting a scat back with one of our 12 picks.
So is the trade for Joseph dead? Was it just a bad rumor? I would like to see 1 or 2 more free agency moves before we hit the draft. BPA,BPA,BPA or bust.
