Trading for Djax allows us to go after BPA in every round of the draft. We could still grab a solid reciever in Matthews/Moncrief/Bryant without having to use our 1st rounder
If Bridgewater or Bortles or Manziel is still on the board when it's our pick would you get any of them?
Yes! For the future.we never get a good qb in this team,so if they there yes grab one of those guys. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
If we did get DJax, especially for a 3rd or later, that would be a pretty massive overhaul of our offense. We'd have a very good deep threat in DJax, an awesome slot guy in Kerley and a very good in between guy in Decker. Hill is Hill. Cumberland is a decent TE, if we just added another decent TE in the draft (Ebron probably won't be available) and you factor in an already pretty decent backfield with Ivory, Powell and Goodson. Not to mention the possibility of Vick either starting or at least pushing Geno to be better...that's all pretty good stuff. I wouldn't even be as pissed off about spending a draft pick on CB again if this happened. Still prefer it not be our first rounder though...
If we trade for D-Jax, I'd still go WR and TE with our first two picks. Could imagine a D-Jax, Decker, Kerley, *Insert Cooks, OBJ or Lee here*, Hill, Nelson, ASJ (with our 2nd round pick), and Cumberland/Sudfeld as our receiving options? Big overhaul from last year.

Via Scott Bair Just passed Rex Ryan at owners meeting. He was wearing a shirt that said "will sell wife for beer." P.S. His wife was with him. True story. Off topic but Rex it's too much lol.
If we drafted a Qb in the first round that would probably be it for Geno with the Jets. They would probably trade him (you would assume a trade value for him). There would be no reason to carry both him and the 1st rounder plus Vick and Simms. I don't see it happening unless they evaluate the Qb they draft that high much better than Geno. But if a Qb like Aaron Murray is available later in the draft (3rd round or higher) maybe select that Qb as a potential competitor with Geno and then release Simms. The Jets are pretty much set at Qb for this coming season.
Rex is such a Bro, gotta love his moments of genuine character. they'd probably go into training camp with all 4 in that case. I agree their set, but if a first was used on a QB, that doesn't necessarily spell the end for Smith unless he's outdone in TC by that rookie, but likely one would be given up for trade bait the next year depending on who's more promising.
I don't think they'll draft Manziel or any of the other top guys unless maybe (like last season) one of them drops to 18. The Jets drafted Geno because he was a good value in the 2nd round. They passed on him in the 1st round. And that's possible because the Qb market has shrunk. I couldn't see them carrying Geno and a guy like Manziel or Bridgewater on the roster. It's hard to develop two top Qb prospects. A higher round draft pick maybe esp since there are still questions on Geno. So I don't think the Jets will draft one of the top guys in the first round even if available. They might be able to trade back and get another pick if a team who wants them is willing to deal. I could see us surprising people and trading up for Watkins if he falls to around 5.
Look I'm not saying the Jets would trade Geno. I don't think they will. If they did they might be able to get some value for him. Some kind of draft pick in exchange. And one of the posters is correct they will have 4 Qbs on their roster during training camp. So if they don't draft anyone they'll sign a UFA or somebody else to fill out the roster. Simms would not be cut. At least until the end of camp.
