Let's the pats get him at that price. Their problems are on the defense end of the ball. If he lowered his price a little , we should trade a 3rd for this beast.

Cause we don't spend any money anymore on anyone. Regardless. Any other gm with our cap space would have pulled this deal already, but we would rather wait till he signs with the pats and say. Dam. Lol

yeah that's my bad, I was in a bit of shock at the moment. Steinberg is following him, not the other way around.

He will be cut, why waste a pick? He will come to the NYJ if he wants to, and if Vick's recruiting of him is successful. If I have to give up a pick it sure won't be a 3rd rounder. Philly doesn't have to release him until preseason because that's when his salary becomes guaranteed. If they cut him before that time, then he has major issues, it's very telling. NE will wait till he is cut just like with Revis, that's the smart play.

I think with the statement today that Philly will cut him if no team trades for him, Id offer a 5 or 6th round pick if we are so hot for him. It will be a bidding war if he gets released. Why take chances? Off the 6th and see what happens.

I think it would be worth offering a 5th dependent upon Jackson and the Jets being able to come together on a restructuring of his contract. This way they can find out if he is just looking for more guaranteed money or if he is looking for more than the $10M a year he is currently under contract for.
The 5th would be worth it rather than having to be in the mix with all the other teams that would be after him if he got cut.

If we decided that we want him we need to be aggressive and go get him before he gets released.
If he hits the open market nothing good can come out of it for us.

If he hits the open market we have Marty and Vick here which at least gives us a leg up on the competition.

True but we still have a little bit of an advantage when it comes to familiarity.

Yep, Jackson is going to go to the place that gives him the best guarantees.

There is no way in hell we should let him hit the open market. If you trade for him, you are guaranteed to have him and all you are giving up is a pick where you won't find a player anywhere near as impactful as DJax would be to us.

And you only inherent a horrible contract, to a diva who is greedy. Idzik would never take that cap, he won't negotiate a new deal, it won't happen.

Don't you think your Idzik sucks mantra is getting a little played by now?
So you want to pay more than $10M a year to him? Or do you think that he is going to go to the Jets and magically him thinking he deserves a new contract goes away?

You also inherit a completely rebuilt offense full of guys your young QB can grow with for at least the next 3-4 years. It's a no brainer. If you have the money, you spend it. And Jax is one of the few guys that can make THAT big a difference who is also still in his prime that can be had via trade or free agency for the foreseeable future.

Uhm yea his 10million number would barley make a dent in our current cap space. And we haven't had a playmaker like him ever and besides Decker who is there on offense. He would make us Legit on offense and beyond legit if we draft Ebron
