I was excited when they were talking about it on the Rich Eisen Podcast, but the trailer looks pretty stupid if you ask me. That being said, I'm still totally watching this right when it comes out haha, cuz I'm that obsessed with football.
ESPN's Football Today had watched it and gave it a "generous" 6.5/10. Overall, they weren't enthusiastic about the movie.
Doesn't really look good. I know nothing of the story, but I am going to go out on a limb and say Costner plays a once great GM that has been down on his luck, and is facing a do or die season, which will hinge on his draft. Another club will screw him on a deal for a player he is convinced could save him, but he scores an unbelievable deal/pick at the end as is heralded as the hero. the epilogue reads that his diamond in the rough 5th round pick wins rookie of the year, and he is named GM of the year.
That sounds about right, haha. I think they could have easily gotten better actors to use, but I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't be too harsh. I just remember about a year ago now, hearing about the movie thru podcasts I'd listen to while working.
