Well here's why I'm not panicking. I don't see any scenario, no matter who we sign, were we are good enough to beat NE or Den. And I don't see a scenario where we would beat SF or Sea in the SB. None. So why waste a roster spot on an aging, declining CB coming off an injury like Cromartie? It's just not a good fit. I'd rather give the other guys playing time. There is no title to win this year. If you feel like we are actually a contender, or could have been, then I guess I can understand your panic.

Guy, my eyes are wide open. I don't know how long you've been a Jets fan, but I've been a Jets fan since 1964. I've seen more than enough total stupidity from the owner, GMs and HCs to last 2 lifetimes, and am confident I can recognize what that looks like. While Idzik may have made some mistakes this offseason (I'm not saying he has), there is nothing about him or the way he's going about things that even remotely resembles earlier clueless regimes. It is abundantly clear to me that you have been poisoned by too many years being a Jets fan and need to step away from the team a while. I had to a year or so ago for about 3 months. When I came back, my perspective and attitude was a LOT better.

You're in the wrong place to voice negative opinions of King Izdick. 75% of the posters aspire to be discovered by the Jets FO and get hired for a job getting Izdick's coffee or somethin. Cant figure out any other reasons for the blind faith. He's been so bad that he was forced by woody to handle a very bizarre conference call with the media for damage control.

Colon was better at his position than Cromartie was at his, yet you guys were crying when they brought him back. Now the super bowl is shot because we didn't bring back Antonio Fucking Cromartie. Unreal.

Cro/dee were equally terrible the first 80% of the season

Dee had super study games against Miami and Cleveland, covering mike Wallace and josh gordon. Thus making him the better corner for the season

Cro was a penalty machine as well.
    ------------------------------

Cro is most overrated Jet IMO.

The turning point of the jets franchise the past four years for me was when Cro let up the 99 yd td to victo Cruz.

Had some great moments as well as massive brain farts( Oakland game 2 years ago)

Glad he is gone, let's move on.

Cro flat out blew donkey balls and you know it. He made Colon look like a hall of famer. And there is a difference between couldn't and wouldn't.

He was hurt.. Well see how he does in Arizona compared to milliner and Wilson. Which again, hurt and as bad as you say, he was our best corner.

Cro had one standout year when Revis went down and now people are convinced that he's guaranteed to suddenly jump back to that level of play after playing through a major injury and sucking all of last year? I'm not a Cromartie hater by any stretch but I can't understand all of the crying over letting him go. I would be amazed if he ever has a season half as good as 2012 again.

I disagree and thought he better than you think, but with tht said. The complaining isn't so ,ugh that he was light out amazing. It's what we have to replace him. Doesn't look good.

Once again Millner played good against bad QBs and got owned and put to shame by good ones.He was a hall of famer against Jason Campell and Matt Mgloin

Once again - he was a rookie. How many rookie CBs light it up in their first year in the league? He got much better as the season progressed - what did you want, a Pro Bowl?

actually what's really funny is all the sunshiners trying to be positive of geno and idzik are the same ones that wouldn't let go of the notion that mark sanchez was a franchize qb, some even claiming him to be an "ELITE" qb, LOL. they talk like they know all and others are inferior, yet their track record of football knowledge is really smoke and mirrors.
i guess this is where i get banned for reminding all those know it all's how wrong they usually always are. HAVE A NICE DAY

I don't see nothing wrong with being positive with Geno. He was a rookie last season with no weapons.

It was time to move on from Cromartie. He wasn't in the plan for the future. Oh, and he's terrible. EBay that jersey.

So, what was gained by not brining Cro back?

I heard Rex's interview with the Daily News. Despite the homers here saying they are fine with Walls starting at CB, I expect they will make a move to avoid that. Then the homers who say they are happy with Walls starting will change their tune and say how great the FO is for getting someone else in there.

The problem is they should be going O with their high picks, and instead will use one on a Cb.

Then, when that rookie struggles in man coverage, the homers will defend him by saying what do you expect from a rookie playing Cb?

Well isn't taht precisely why they should have gotten a vet Cb???

I suppose a trade is still possible. Oh well. And even the homers won't have high expectations this year.

Still, the worst of it will be that the Jets will not be adding enough to the O. Expect more excuse making for Smith.

It should be a great season.
