Thats a solid point. I do not know for the life of me why teams that blitz to put pressure on qbs have to automatically be teams that MUST play press coverage. If you are getting a solid rush from your front 4 with a linebacker mixed in here and there, you do not have to rely totally on press coverage on EVERY play the way the Jets did..until, like you pointed out BRAD, we began to switch up looks and Millner started to play much better. His pick in our last home game was a perfect example of read and react. No doubt the kids strength...and hopefully thats what all of this sitting on our hands and not paying 35 million over 5 or 6 years is all about. Many very successful teams have survived and even thrived with a good but not great secondary because of an elite 4 man pass rush. Maybe thats the thinking...who knows.
It doesn't look as if they really wanted him back, I doubt the amount was the main issue, they could have afforded many times that amount .
couldn't, or didn't want to anyhow? it seems clear to me that Idzik was done with Cro and would rather move on completely. I don't agree, they could have had him here while the younger guys adjusted at least, but hey lets see who steps up (or who else is brought in)
As much as I'd love Desean Jackson, he has Panthers written all over him. Hopefully, we can make a comparable offer and PHI will choose to trade him out of the conference.
Fortunately we have a better pick so if it's in the same round we'd have a better shot. I don't want to get my hopes too much because it hasn't worked well in the past and this does not seem like an Idzik move. It would be a pretty sweet offense though.
oh yeah carolina is involved... yeah Im not sure what their cap situation is like but their WR corps makes the Jets 2013 corps look like a bunch of all pros at the moment. We'd like DJAX, they NEED him.
Are people still pulling the "we couldn't afford that" card? WE AREN'T PAYING THESE GUYS BECAUSE IDZIK DOESN'T WANT THEM BACK OR ON THIS TEAM!! IT DOESN'T ONLY HAVE TO DO WITH MONEY!!
This is a very very tough concept for some to grasp. And maybe it's just me, but I don't know why Idzik WOULD pay to rent one of the worst CBs in the league statistically for one year. That serves no purpose.
During the entire season people couldn't wait to get rid of this guy and now we're crying about not bringing him back lol
Carolina doesn't have near the cap room we do which is part of the reason the WRs are dropping out. Last I saw they had around $8million in space.
Yeah, no chance they can swing Djax and honestly the 49ers already pulled out and NE certainly doesn't have the cap space but we said that about Revis antichrist.
If Idzik is able to trade Sanchez for anything over a bag of dirty jock straps, he deserves GM of the Century!
