As much as I want it to be the case I wouldn't be so sure Sanchez is a goner if we don't sign a capable backup.

A choice should have been added for signing Vick as a veteran back up for Smith. I would be in favor of that, but I am not in favor of another QB competition in camp. Smith deserves another year so that the Jets can determine if he is the future or not. Vick does not have much of shelf life left and inserting him as the starter just delays the search for a franchise QB. Sign Vick to back up Smith and spell him if he is injured or he does not progress.

The circus comments are absurd. Vick has been back in the league for 3-4 seasons now and there has been no circus in Philly and there will be none here.

No -- the guy has generated no interest in free agency, he is 34, he is an injury waiting to happen so even if he does play he won't last, he will cause too many headlines, half the fan base will be screaming for him to start, it will probably to more negative than positive for Geno, and in the end you lose Vick next season, Geno becomes an afterthought and you wasted time.

let Sanchez and Smith do their think this season -- see if either one is tradeable and look for a franchise QB in 2015. Your biggest headline grabbing free agent signing can't be a 34 year old QB that has 35 TD and 37 turnovers the last three seasons.

I think Mike was making 10 mil with the Eagles. He'll probably ask for five but Idzik will try to negotiate it down to 4 or under with incentive clauses based on games played. The question is will Mike if given an offer tomorrow sign right away or is he truly going to test the market. I was originally against signing him but after hearing about last season in Phila and how he played well and when replaced by Foles was a good teammate I'm ok with it. You have to know that Mike has tremendous respect around the NFL esp with players.

there has been a three year yo yo at QB in Philli. Between injuries, poor play, more injuries, more poor play -- their QB situation has been a mess because Vick had a good little run his first season with the Eagles.

I think the guy is a scumbag, and I think that he's overrated on the wrong side of his career. But we've been without even a even a half-ass backup for the last 6 seasons. The only thing I'm afraid of is he's coming here because he wants a chance at starting. Then goes into pre- season out performs Geno and we have have another QB mess on our hands.

so if the Eagles qb situation has been a mess what would you call ours?

Vick was a part of the qb situation last year and I'd say their's was FAR better than ours.

There's a lot of issues I have here. First of all, time changes cultural mores. Slavery was UNIVERSALLY acceptable a mere 250 years ago until people like Denis Diderot began arguing against it. Moreover, someone who CHOOSES to enter a ring to fight, in the hope of making a lot of money I might add, also has a choice to not enter. Did Vick's dogs get to say, "I quit" or "not tonight, I'm not feeling it"? Of course not.

Yes, you're right, there should've been a backup option. I guess I intended the mentor option to serve in that regard, but I'm not sure that works.

Slavery was not universally accepted. There was an abolitionist movement in both the UK and the US that was quite formidable and that got slavery on the high seas outlawed in the early 19th century. Many European and New World societies did not condone slavery and did not allow slavery in their territories or possessions. It was only in America and Russia that the issue was fought as late as it was.

You know breeding anything for the enjoyment of watch them kill each other is fucking disgusting right?

Im so sick of these fucking people who act like because he went to jail for a very minimal time everyone with a heart
    should forgive and forget,

This piece of shit bread and murdered animals for nothing more then enjoyment and financial gains.

I am honestly disgusted and in my whole life i have never been more disappointed in the Jets front office
then i am now for even bringing this piece of shit in here.

I would rather sell my tickets for pennies on the dollar then cheer for this team while he is any where on this roster.

This must be Idziks "Master Plan" all the Idzik apologists were talking about,Now that all the top free agents are off the board we are gonna look for low charecter players to underpay like Vick

They will overpay vick - who no one wants - and claim there were many veteran options. they paid a premium for an elite weapon that will compete for a job.

If he signs i will sell my tickets without question. If he gets the starting job i will not be watching any games this season or at least until he is injured.

Im glad you get a kick out of people who have a love for animals being upset by this.
