Yeah, he's probably about 6' tall, but he plays taller. The touch on his passes is fantastic. I know I'm probably bias so my opinion doesn't count, but I think a 4th round+ flier on this kid would be worth it.
I expected us to do what the Giants did in Fa only better since we had triple the amount of money they had and they signed what 10 free agents so far,so.what Idzik is better then Jerry Reece?a two time superbowl winning Gm,he just realizes they had to many holes to fill with just draft,so do we only Idziks not filling them
John Idzik is not an evaluator, he has next to NO evaluation exp ... that was factually reported when he was hired. He did say that he envisioned doing more of that work going forward .... but lets be real (or not, its a free country) the noobs will give Idzik all credit for SRich just like noobs gave cred to Tanny for drafting Revis which we all found out later he had nothing to do with. I promise u that in that war room Idzik followed the board, his evaluations had nothing to do with SRich being that high. He is not an evaluator or a personnel guy. Hes a cap guy that aspires to one day have a functional knowledge of personnel evaluations. Its common knowledge man. But go ahead and remain in denial. And for the record .... since you did your homework .... truthfully, i loved the Milliner pick and with 13 i thought Lotuleili was the best option or IF QB then yes I definitely thought Nassib was the best QB prospect. I absolutely wanted him over Geno in round 2 and I'll stick to it. He'll get his chance. Remember me in a cpl years if he sinks or swims
Reese stepped in shit. He has one of the worst draft histories over the past few years, it's like 17 of 38 aren't even in the NFL anymore. That is why they signed all these FAs.
okay, spend on who? were all of the players you wanted even available, realistically? do you think the players not taken in the past week were once in lifetime opportunities? Do you believe the Jets should have made a bigger financial push for players they didn't value all that much to begin with just to say they did? Are you certain opportunities won't come in the future now that they haven't attained players underneath such circumstances? Is it really that awful they didn't sign DRC?
That's not true and it was not factually reported as true when he arrived. 1993 - TB Bucs - Pro Personnel Assistant (by definition an evaluator) 1996 - TB Bucs - Director of Football Administration 2001 - TB Bucs - Assistant General Manager (by definition as evaluator) 2004 - Ariz Cards - Senior Director of Football Operations 2007 - Seahawks - VP of Football Administration (see story of his hiring below) http://seattletimes.com/html/sports/2003576268_hawk17.html So the no evaluation experience is not accurate.
except idzic was a college coaching assistant and a scout with the bucs before the salary cap came to exist, so that whole next to no evaluation exp is complete bullshit.
And isn't it great how the same people will trash talk or ignore the fact that we signed the best WR available - to a fair and decent contract no less.
Youre really reaching on your assumptions of his duties based on his titles. I do not reach your conclusions at all. You have 1 thing there where his last duty described is player evaluations. Pull the quotes that other executives, even those in seattle, who described him as a cap guy.
Request granted: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...stick-flawed-formula-article-1.1242850?pgno=1 I know the reply: Gary Meyers is a Liar and a Jets hater, and he's putting his entire career/livelihood on the line by making up sources bc he has it out for some stranger named Idzik. I actually think this is a foretelling article in some regards. It seems like he called some his flaws from the get. I think Meyers is so spot on. But then again im just a crazy pessimist
Glad I don't need to reply here, you nailed it. Gary Myers has been a Jets-hater as long as he's been covering them. He's always snide when he talks about the team and anything involved with it and he regularly trashes them in his predictions, as he did in that article where he said the Jets would be bad last year with a lame duck coach and everybody would say it was Idzik's fault.
Yes. He was wrong there. Just like every other non jet hater analyst or writer who predicted the same ... which was almost all of em. Lol He didnt make up sources on the idzik quote though. Journalism doesnt work that way.
At the Daily News it certainly seems like it does a lot of the time. All these anonymous sources not willing to be attributed over and over again. Everybody in that sports department seems to do that. Over and over again. They all seem to continuously trash the Jets over and over again. While using anonymous sources over and over again. They did this with Tannenbaum as GM and now with Idzik as GM. It looks for all the world like The Daily News has an editorial policy to trash the Jets at every possible opportunity. Anonymously trash the Jets using sources they're not willing to disclose. So when you post something from one of their writers which is trashing the Jets in some way using an anonymous source it just seems like more of the same BS that they are becoming known for.
This notion that Idzik is not an evaluator is wholly unfounded. From The New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/25/s...eneral-manager-known-for-steady-approach.html
