    the truth is.....

i can't say it without getting baned.

the jets D under Rex has been among tops in the NFL since he got here. You think it doesn't make sense the Jets load up on D when they have a top defensive coach? obviously they do. has there been an inbalance between defense and offense when it comes to personell? yes...to blame that solely on rex is insane. and to say it's a reflective of if he is a good coach overall, and even specifically defensively, is even more insane.

    take a break.

You sir are an idiot if you think that I give 2 shits about Tebow's career. We had the most inept QB starting for us game after game, and Rex enabled him by letting him start. When Mark leaves it will be a great day in Jets history because Rex will have to play someone else other than the man on his tat.

Fair enough. That is certainly a key point and I would have to agree with you here that calling someone a bust after one season is a mistake. I'm just not sure the person to whom I was responding was making that such a nuanced point.

As an aside, I'm still hoping that Hill proves his naysayers wrong this TC and he moves out of the bust category. I know he probably won't but something about the kid makes me want to root for him. I've felt the same way about Ducasse as well because of how little real football experience he had coming into the pro game.

Human stupidity knows no bounds. I've quit trying to reason with morons a while ago - and for a good reason. They want something NOW. Yep.

I specifically said Jets need Tannenbaum back because that's the kind of GM this fan base deserves.

Seriously, staying close to the vest is equivalent to HAVING LEGITIMATE PROBLEM FOR CONCERN according to this fan base. Need I go further?

This is so bad, it's good. From the OP to the Tebow talk. Best thread ever? Where's Junc, we need some Sanchez love.

Idzik has given us so little, we are like the maytag commercial where the repairman is just sitting around bored out of his mind.

    Bring back MT....just kidding.

I don't know what I'm more taken back by. The blind faith in idzick, or the overwhelming arrogance of some people on here. you would think its bill parcells or bill polian giving answers.. It's impressive. Lol

His dumbest move is playing 290 lb Coples at OLB. Whoever heard of a 290 LB? In every passing down the QB KNOWS pre-snap Coples is WAY TO SLOW to cover anyone. Of course Rex will never admit it is bad idea to stick Coples at OLB so he'll again play him out of position next year. Oh I forgot--99% of the people on this message board think Rex is a total genius--If Rex says let's play guys out of position and watch them get burned, LET'S DO IT!

When you coach a defense which has at least six 1st round draft picks out of eleven starters and you suck as bad as we did against the pass and getting a pass rush. You are an average DC at best and a sucky HC.

    Then who wrote this nonsense?:

"There is no reason he should not have even had a tryout with an NFL team last year considering the lack of Qbs. He's a Heisman Trophy winner and considered to be one of the great NCAAF players of all time."

I'm not a te bow fan and think his qb style is atrocious. With that said, I agree with you. I can't believe he didn't get. Chance. The guy wins games. Some teams in particular have nothing to lose. Let him run the pistol or spread offense. It's crazy he's out of football.

I think Rex has done some good things with this defense but....

    A. Rex has some good natural talent on the D, especially on that D-line that helped him
    B. The Eric Smith argument is not a very great one, let's not act like Rex turned Smith into a top 5 safety in the league; he was just the best option we had at the time, there is a reason he is no longer on the team or on any team.
Eric Smith didn't win anything, the Jets won 4 road playoff games, this is a team sport. I get the point trying to be made, it's just a poor example.

I'm not hating on Rex, I like Rex and want to see what he can do with one more year and I wish Idzik got him a CB to help, but your argument for him is a shitty one at the best.

You're barking up the wrong tree, pal. PCL fan says he's not a TT fan but then calls him "one of the great QB's". That's a ridiculous statement. If he wants to call TT a superstar he needs to buy his own shit, not say he's not a fan. Good thing he has only two sides of his mouth to talk out of.

To your point that "it's crazy he's out of football" what do you guys need to be convinced? 32 NFL teams, their coaches, their scouts, their front office personnel have all decided he is of NO USE to them - what more do you need?

I feel bad for him. I personally thought he was a terrible qb. He did win 8 games. I don't know. I think he deserved a shot. What did jax have to lose?
