Joey Crawford's crew with some terrible officiating in Denver Griffin and Faried battling for a rebound Griffin pulls Faried down (after first hooking him) Blind ref calls a foul on Faried, when he didn't do anything
^ Houston already used their amnesty and are at 71 million for next year. They probably won't use a team option on Beverly or Parsons, so that leaves Daniels saving 800K. Let's say Garcia opts out, that saves around 1.4 million, saving them 2.2 million total. That drops them to approx 69.5 million. If the cap is estimated at 63 million, they are 6-7 million over. Asik and Lin have the poison pill next year kicking in, almost 15 million each. This would definitely be a sign trade. I might trust Phil in a deal vs Morey.
I've seen it happen in 3 different games the past week or 2. Blake and someone else. Actually he had two incidents last night. Another was where he set a dirty moving screen on a guard, the refs missed it because they're incompetent, and the guy was pissed.
Yeah I don't Blake is an overall dirty player. But people need to hard foul him which usually gets tensions to flare.
Well yeah they have to trade away Asik and Lin, if they can pull it off they would have enough. I think Asik they could find a trade partner but Lin im not so sure about. A lot of it depends though how the season plays out, if they get into the finals, I dont see changes, but if they got knocked out early then I could see them trying to move parts. The general manager has done a very good job so far, the Rockets 3 years ago were in a much worse position. Trading away Lowry kinda looks questionable now but its a thing of the past now.
Im not sure which teams have amnesty to use still but theoretically the Rockets could send Lin and draft picks to a team, the team could let Lin play or just amnesty and have the draft picks. Teams with amnesty still (Atlanta, Celtics, Bulls, Pistons, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Thunder, Kings, Spurs, Jazz) I think they could get a team like the Cetlics or Atlanta to take Lin and amnesty him for a boatload of picks. It would benefit Houston and it would benefit the team getting the picks. The amnesty clause is VERY valuable though, If I was a team, I would hold onto it personally. How different would the Knicks be if they didn't amnesty Billups.
The draw is that Asik and Lin are expiring contracts. I didn't realize that when I first mentioned them. So that's around 30 million of expiring contracts and the Knicks would have Amare, Bargs, and Chandler expiring also if hypothetically it was an Asik/Lin for Melo trade with picks surrounding it. It might have to be Melo and someone else, I don't think he would make close enough to 30 million in his first year by himself. They have it tougher since they have to trade with NY for Melo BUT it's a slight plus because I think Melo could be signed and traded there receiving his max contract. Oh so the Knicks part. Hypothetically if the trade was Melo for Asik/Lin (I don't even know if money wise this can work), thE Knicks would have these guys expiring after 2014-2015 Asik. $14.9 Lin $14.9 Amare $23.4 Tyson $14.6 Bargs $12.o They only players under contract would be Felton (player option) $4.5 JR (player option) $6.4 Pablo (probably retired) $1.7 THJ (team option) $1.3 Shump (qualifying offer) $3.9
But again that's if Melo leaves. I'm not sure what of if Phil can do anything. Melo is definitely going to opt out. I don't see why he wouldn't.
Houston cant do much, I think they can get Asik off but they cant get both off. They could try to make a swap such as Amare for Lin and Asik but I dont see the benefit, a lot of it has to do with how this season plays out.
^ Yeah for general improvements the Rockets seem to be with this team for this year and next. For major changes, that door is still open, but it needs a willing trading partner

kings/wizards: Wizards have a 4 on 1 break, Drew Gooden turns it over, no shot This results in a 4 on 1 for the Kings Beal, rather than passing, goes for a highlight reel dunk, demolishing Isaiah Thomas, who was standing there to take the charge (he knew his only shot was to stand there and hope they ran him over, so that's what he did).

Whoa good win for the Kings. Bucks almost pulled off the upset against POR, but POR hasn't fallen that far yet.
