I swear...swear...I was ready for some vacation time. Those that view TGG know that unless there is an unusual storm in the spring..summer fall...we all tend to just check in every once in awhile to make sure we are alive.

So...I was ready for that. Still am. Back in the ole brain, saw the storm for next week and thought to myself "wouldnt it be my luck that a huge storm came in when we stopped checking models?"

Now of course thats all bull...but guys..and Im hoping this will be a rain event although areas that get snow this time of the year will get snow..but its time to take this storm for next week VERY VERY serious.

    1. The temps for those on the cold side will be below normal if it were January.

    2. GFS showed a 956 low off the coast of Boston with wind gusts over 100 mph (nonsense? Im sure..but the long range has been wrong about location..not strength..so we put that in here)

    3. Major snow storm for some areas..and major rainstorm for others.

    4. Time frame: 3-25/3-26

    5. Models showing a bomb of a storm: GFS/EURO/CMC and thats all that really matters.

For those thinking we just put a storm in here to keep us busy..havent been here for several days and was enjoying the break!! lol..but we have to tell the truth. Will post some pics.

So this storm is dedicated to CBG because Im sure he is the only one pumped for one more storm...and if this was just a run of mill storm, we would skip it..but its not.

Now the promise..at least for me...THIS IS THE LAST ONE OF YEAR. IF there is a storm after this, I will not cover it in protest. So lets enjoy covering the last one.

    EURO ENSEMBLE:

Thats a 956 low off the coast of Jersey..unheard of..and probably overdone..but you get the drift..tons of agreement for what could be a wind driven rainstorm? Or....you get the point.

    ugh jay, not good.
here's my question , how much lower are the odds of a cold front pushing low enough to keep it south this late in the year?

    did i word that right?

Okay first off,,,,,,you tell those computer models I do not believe them,,,,,they fibbed about the last 3 storms, not that they did not happen but 2 storms hit south of us and the other well north,,,,yesterday I deflated a couple of snow tubes that were in my garage and put away a few sleds and shovels as they were taking up one of my spots for my car !
Now if we get rain or a few inches of snow,,,tell Mother Nature she can keep it, as I am in Spring mode,,,,,,but if we are going to actually get buried let me say that I have a pump that can easily inflate the kids snow tubes,,and the sleds and shovels can easily come back out but more importantly I believe you said 25 th / 26th ,not a 3 day weekend but CBG luvs days off none the less,,,,,,,,,so if we are going to get buried bring it on !

Pretty damn good...but a bit better would be...is there a chance the high pressure to the north would come farther south to suppress the storm.

Now, technically its almost the same thing but the cold front would have to be an actual front on the move..where that doesnt have to be the case. Once the high pressure settles south..it no longer is a moving cold front to shove the storm out of the way...but the storm moving along the settled front which is too far south to affect us. Hope that makes sense FJF....please ask if it doesnt...but you are 100 percent on the right track.

Now in a normal winter, I would say no...probably no chance..but not this winter..you are very much on to what could prevent this storm from hitting us but its a double edge sword if thats they way you want to root.

If you root for the front to be not as strong to guarantee rain, that would be a safe bet too. So, its a tough call.

NOW..LONG WAYS OFF..but the models have been dead on about storms strengths..not locations. So, we track..but can we be lucky 3 times in a row..or is this such a strong storm that it hits all...but the thing to track is simply a rain/snow line. I think that is the way it will go....a rain/snow line.

lol...very nicely put CBG..now..the only way this could be a 2 or 3 inch storm is that its so far south we get brushed or that we are on the rain snow line and get 2 to 3 inches of mush. I doubt both. It will either be an all out rain storm or well....Im not going to say it...yet.

ah, got it. thanks jay. i'll say this, we had a tough winter but philly has gotten the worst of it. i don't see any reason to think they won't take one more hit,
    trends baby trends

and if there is another storm after this, i will track it, i think i am starting to really see the info in all those lines on a map

Now this..lol...ice fishing...I will never understand. I mean, if its a food source etc..I get that. I used to know this neighbor of mine when I lived in Sparta, N.J. In the winter, he would make a day of it..invited me all the time. Take his tent to the middle of the lake. Never understood it. The fish are barely moving..no fight. Ok, thats enough of a vent.

All models continue to have something but several leave the moisture to the south. Where have we heard this? FJF just mentioned it. But, its still on the radar. Will check in tomorrow night to see if its alive.
