Just saw the DRC news, Giants paid a lot for him. I hope we bring Cromartie back in, I still think can play.

Brilliant point. Too much validity for some to handle ... Ppl won't get it. One of the most common mistakes ... confusing a rare exception to a rule.

Jets fans don't always panic, but when they do it's full blown panic.

Decker is a solid receiver. Idk what you guys see in him. You really think he's better than solid?

the fans have been in win now mode since 69, the Jets top brass has other ideas and won't over indulge on anybody if its not at level they like.

frustration is ensuing because of perceived opportunities being missed or otherwise passed up on for whatever reason, when clearly we can win NOW and should be putting everything into winning NOW, or at least thats what extended frustration says to an unhappy jets fans mind.

I'll take solid all day. Holmes was not solid at all, quite the opposite. saying Decker is only a slight upgrade over Holmes is stupid.

Exactly ,we haven't had the best drafts over the years and its easy for people to say "were gonna build threw the draft"Your lucky if you get 2 starters out of draft.Last year was suppose to be a rebuilding year this year we were suppose to become legit. But with Idziks supposed plan we won't have a real team fielded until 2018,How did the NY yankess win all those rings?they paid for them .You can't rely on just the draft

There isn't many players left who can be a big impact,James Jones signed with Raiders.Costello said that Idzik wouldn't budge an inch on DRC contract

He wasn't even "Average" when he had Tebow throwing him the ball. He's a good receiver, much better then anything we have had here in the last few years.

Fortunately, we have all those AFC East titles, AFC Championships and recent SB appearances to fall back on.

Good thing. Otherwise we might start to question this organization.

The Jets are rebuilding. Everybody likes the idea of rebuilding until they see it up close and they end up hating it. Idzik wants cap flexibility. We are gonna build through the draft and use free agency to supplement that. We're gonna sign high risk low reward guys and cheap vets. If we're in 2016 and the team still stinks THEN I can understand folks bitching. But not now. Give him a chance to implement his plan.

Teams with some bookkeeping exceptions have to spend at least 90% of their cap money. So Idzik has to spend most of the pot. But to build depth rather than commit to one guy get several good players to cover injuries, etc. And then there's always a guy whose going to overachieve. But when the opposite happens (if the guy tanks it after getting paid or is injured) you're stuck with that cap and salary hit.

I get that he doesn't want to bring in older FAs. I don't really want him too, either, but sometimes you have to do some things you don't want. The team has holes both in starting positions and in depth. Idzik wants competition at all positions, to improve the team, and avoid having to take a position in the draft. Well that goes against his actions in FA. He's allowed several younger FAs to sign reasonable deals elsewhere that would have addressed a couple of needs (Asamoah and Verner). Verner hasn't played press, but that doesn't mean he couldn't learn, or Rex could have altered his scheme and started mixing in zone. By and large, unless some other quality players are released by their teams, the players that Idzik is going to be able to bring in aren't really going to improve the team much or offer much competition, and more than likely, they're going to be older players.

I didn't realize that DRC was 28, but it's not even so much about him. The thing is that in FA, players aren't going to be any younger than 25, since almost all players, at least the better players and draft prospects, sign 4 or 5 year deals. Inflexibility, stubbornness are not good qualities in a GM or HC.

That's not stupid at all. Holmes was playing well in 2012 until he got hurt. Then last year he was still hampered by his injury (not making excuses) healthy Holmes vs Decker IS close talent wise IMO.

It's sad that the amount of draft busts vs draft successes with this franchise is a 2:1 ratio. I dont think Idzik and this staff realize we were a couple lucky penalties aways from being a 6-10 or 5-11 team last year! We have ALOT of improvements to make!, but i think losing 2 of our 5 starting offensive lineman does not help a young qb. And as I said before Geno is not the answer, but at least provide the guy with consistency. We will most likely draft a playmaking WR or TE in the 1st round, but who's to say he wont be another Stephen Hill 2.0. Decker and Kerley won't cut it. I will say our Defensive Line is very solid, but if they dont generate any rush, our secondary will get torched!. How or Why we didnt pay money at least on a top flight corner is beyond me!...i have no idea wtf Idzik is planning to do with the money we have....I thought before FA began, getting 2 Receivers, a CB and a Safety was our biggest need. We got Decker which was good, but guys like James Jones were available, but I really wanted Emmanuel Sanders, but letting DRC go to the Giants sucks. I also think getting Vick would be a good fit for this team considering at least Vick, even though older and injury prone to me is more dynamic than Geno

The issue with the fans is either they are upset that we have no money to spend or they are upset that we arent spending the money. If Idzik turned around tommorow and spent all the money for the next three years everyone on this board would be complaining that we are in cap hell.

Judge Idzik by the season result, not the offseason signings.
