So now we praying for a good draft. Free agency is part of the game for a reason. I think there no excuse for not signing a corner

Idzik clearly does not want to overpay for him. haven't we learned our lessons with players like Holmes and Sanchez?

We will have corners when the season begins. We should pray for a good draft, that's the only way we will get good fast.

I couldn't disagree more.... So one question, besides being cheap and a cap guy. What's the reason we have spent no money on a corner. Please don't say the giants overpaid.

Lol settle down. No ones claiming to be a forum expert. You made a general statement about barcs post and claimed it was to silly for you to explain whats wrong with it. So I assume you appointed yourself the forum expert. Through all you general non committal comments, I assume your position is the giants overpaid for DRC at 15 mill. Thanks for the expert answer.

Rome wasn't built in a day. The Jets won't be either under Idzik. Its not like this team was a player or two away from contention. This team is at least 2 years off the pace unless Geno takes a quantum leap or this roster does. I hate to use a cliche like this but it applies here. We have to crawl before we can walk and we will have to walk before we can run with the big dawgs. If after 45 years you can't wait a few more, I would suggest you not follow this team until say, 2015-16. That's only a year or two from now. Point is, give Idzik a chance to build a solid foundation.

    > questionable passion for the game
    > only 1 good truly good season
    > 5 years, 39m, 15 guar? taking a big chance that he continues to be motivated.

I would rather stay away from that and get a stop-gap for cheaper. I believe we will 5 starters this draft, they will contribute early, and we will be a better team.

Ok fair enough. My thought is with rex coaching, his age. He was worth it. I think it's really hard to find shut down corners. He has allot of upside. His bad years in Philly some of it can be blamed on the system. I think we are so thin at corner we had to try. Now we need to pray antonio crom artie resigns.

At this point we need to go on and bring CROriginal back, deficiencies and all. Let Walls get a little more time over Wilson and take a flyer on somebody in the 4th. I'm hoping Idzick is playing the long game and keeping cap for the day of/post draft day dump trades we almost always seem to be on the wrong end of.

Hated that the best Jet I ever seen ended up in New England and I thought Decker got a bit overpaid, but I guess most moves make sense when you consider that Jets are far from ready to contend for the SB. Revis wouldn't boost the team enough and Geno, or who ever will be the poor guy under center, will need someone like Decker to develop. About the shift at RT, I don't know if it was good or bad.

This offseason has been an embarrassment. I dont know which unit is the worst in the league .. carolina's wide receivers or the jets' cornerbacks.

We aren't winning the division till brady is gone he owns the afc east until he retires. It makes no sense to make a big splash in free agents build slowly and let brady(and prob belicheck) retire shortly. I know its sucks but just the way it is

We really need a receiver and the most productive will probably be a former Jet, Jerricho Cotchery. He will not cost that much. He runs good routes and has soft hands and decent speed and height. Do it, just bring him back and the we fans would love it too.

You're probably right, Wilson did a decent job but as much a I like what Walls showed last pre season I don't think I want to see him thrown to the wolves just yet. If we could have grabbed a fs with coverage skills things might be so dire in our secondary. Hopefully, clearly, not having all world CBS will help Rex evolve his game planning.

I think he's trying to do things the Patriots way. The only thing is the Patriots aren't doing it the Patriots way. Waiting for the high priced guys to sign elsewhere and picking up bargains off the scrap heap. The thing is some of these guys are really good football players.

And what happens if we are still a joke in 2015-16?

Can we wait until after the draft before we call the jets a joke, we had a good season last year, they are trying to build on that success.

Let's be patient and see how Idzik plays this hand. I'm actually excited about this approach, balanced and not hasty.

This is almost like the steelers have done. Few free agents and good use of the draft.
