I know I will get flamed for this but RDC at 7M and Mevis @12M? I don't think Mevis is nearly 80% or twice more valuable or effective than RDC. I guess I'm disappointed we did not sign the new Crow.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 24s Giants are giving CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie a 5-year, $39M deal, including $15M gtd, per source.
i dont get why people are going crazy about not getting DRC like he is some megastud super star. he is headed to his 4th team in 6 years for a reason. also dont get why everyone feels like we need to fill all of our holes in free agency and fill all of our holes this year. we are a rebuilding team with an average at best 2nd year QB. there is ZERO reason to just throw money around irresponsibly. hell for all we know we might draft a CB in the first round. hell maybe trade up and draft a safety and a CB. we have alot of ammo, alot of money, and what most people are missing ALOT OF TIME. we dont need to fix all this in one offseason. when idzik took over we had no picks and no cap room. now we have a boatload of picks and a ton of cap room. no need to blow it all right away. be smart and start a process where you can be in this situations EVERY offseason; i.e. with some cap room and extra picks. It would make sense to me to roll most of that cap room to next season, after we see what the rookies we draft this year can do and better assess our needs
He's not getting screwed. Why do we need to spend all this money on CBs? Rex needs to coach these young guys up.
you can carry over the 11% you dont spend, and you can sign players to 1 year gaurnteed contracts freeing the money up the following offseason. you dont need to spend 90% of the cap giving guys 5 year deals
A) There's no such thing as a five-year rebuilding plan in the NFL anymore...teams go from 4-12 to 11-5 every season. B) They can fill only so many holes in the draft, and they have a million needs offensively. Now they created another one defensively and are going to severely downgrade at CB two years in a row when they don't yet have the pass rushers that can make a difference without a great cover corner.
Do you get that we should be trying to win more than 8 games this year? Or that we have even more cap next year available than we did this year and no dead money to carry?
Not really considering he got to keep his job in the first place (and got an extension) after three straight non-playoff years. And honestly I'm glad he's not running the organization, most coaches shouldn't have that power. That said, if we have only Decker and a bunch of no-names to show for this offseason it'll be as big a dissapointment as the Met offseason.
I want to see how much we offered. I know Idzik doesn't want to over pay but if it's only by a million or two over 5 years then I think it's worth it
You can't rely on having a good team by hitting on all 12 picks. It doesn't happen. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
