The Rangers have too many star players that are in big slumps. Nash, MSL, Richards, Zucc, Staal, etc. The Rangers are such underachievers. This team has the talent to be as good as anyone in the league, yet somehow they could miss out on the playoffs. I'd love to see a big performance from Hank tonight. When was the last one of those that he had? When is he going to earn that huge contract? He needs to show that he is the best goalie in the league.
Ha, now we know why you think the Rangers are the most talented team in the league. You seem to have a very liberal definition of the word "star" when it comes to the Rangers, and not so with any other team.
Nash, Richards and MSL are proven stars in the NHL. MSL and Richards are past their prime, but not bad players. I expect a lot more than both are producing right now. Nash has been a huge disappointment. He should be scoring 40 goals every year for the Rangers with the talent around him. He won't even get 30 at his current pace. Zucc has been the Rangers best player this year. Maybe he's not a star in the NHL yet, but along with McDonagh he's been the star player on the Rangers all year. Staal when healthy is a great defender. He's not always healthy and hasn't been healthy the last few seasons, but if he had stayed healthy he would have definitely been a lock for the Canadian Olympic team. I don't know how someone could look at the teams near the Rangers in the standings and even think that they have an ounce of the talent that the Rangers have. CBJ, Flyers and Caps don't have the talent level that the Rangers have.
Well, I will give you credit for one thing. You're comparing the Rangers talent to teams realistically at their level, instead of Boston/Chicago. I'm guessing you're too young to have lived through the 97-04 teams, otherwise you'd realize how silly this talent on paper argument looks.
AM, Hagelin used up all his goals for rest of season...one thing I've noticed lately Klein is getting better and has a nice heavy shot from the point...and yes Nash Is softer than whipped cream....
He was very shaky in the first. I said I was ready to criticize him. He picked up his game in the last two periods and the team won, so there was no need to criticize him.
I was thinking about JE, last night watching Sens blow a 3 goal lead in the last 3 minutes vs Habs and lose in OT...boy did they get robbed, goaltenders interference on the tying goal and Lehrner had the puck covered for 4 seconds on the winning goal
The game against the Sharks today was the most frustrating game of the season thus far. If you were to only watch one game that is a microcosm of the Rangers season, this was the game. The Rangers possessed the puck more than one of the best teams in the league the Sharks, outshot the Sharks badly, but the same problems existed. The Rangers got a lot of shots, but the quality of shots wasn't good. Too many shots right at Niemi and the Rangers have no one to get to the front of the net to screen the goalie. You need to be able to screen a goalie. The Rangers don't have that capability. The Rangers played really well today, but the one mistake they made was one that you always see from this team. A bad giveaway on the PP results in a short handed goal. Hank played well, but its been the same story with him all season. He's been unable to come up with the big saves when the Rangers have needed it. He's been awful on breakaways and penalty shots this year. Hank played well, but once again he got outplayed by an average goalie. So same story as usual. A lot of puck possession for the Rangers, a lot of shots, very few quality shots, and one huge mistake that Hank wasn't able to save the day on. Will the Rangers make the playoffs?
They'll make the playoffs, but what I want to know is where the fuck is MSL & Nash? They're on overpaid vacation
Thinking the same thing Gordon, mia, especially the 6'4" marshmallow...jackass broke up the only scoring line he had Zucc-Brass-Pou
And can someone please explain to me how they can have an image of the puck over the line and now call that a goal
made my only trip to the Garden ths season, brough my 7 year old to his first game.....what a let down. Bright side, they did skate circles around the Sharks and played a pretty good game.......but, other side, that's the best I've ever seen any team play and get shut out............yes they did have a lot of perimeter bs shots with no screens, but they had at least 10 quality scoring chances (open nets, puck sitting right there to be smacked in, plus the goal that wasn't).....if they blow the playoffs........ by the way, i know it was a day game and all, but crowd was awfully quiet......I guess eveyone's getting nervous
