    NFL ‏@nfl 6m
RT @RapSheet: Jets LB Calvin Pace, coming off a 10-sack season, has re-signed with Gang Green for 2 years and $5M.

No it's not, he may think he can build a team to win 4 or 5 years down the road (he can't) and what he is doing has nothing to do with Rex at all.

According to Dustin Keller's agent he will be ready to play in 2014. And he's a FA. If his price is low why not sign him to a conditional one year deal kind of like the Patriots did with Jake Ballard. He probably will not be ready to take the field for at least two months.

The posts do not indicate you did. I also cannot pick up on any sarcasm. Just bad posting on your part, it appears.

How do you know whether or not he can build a team that can win in 4 or 5 years? Nobody on this planet will know that answer until 4 or 5 years from now. And if you have some method of miraculously being able to know that, you should be working in an NFL front office, not posting on an online forum.

Damn! My fav FA target is off the market. Shame for the Steelers. All that's left are value WRs now.

I'm surprised they gave Pace 2 years instead of 1.

Because nobody else has been able to. Maybe I would feel differently if we had a Brady but we don't.

I think we'll end up with Rodgers-Cromartie. We'll get him at around 5-7 million a year.

Just read a link saying Oakland is interesting in Sanchez if they can't get Schuab.

This is one of the most ridiculous statements and theories ever stated on this board. If Idzik did not want Ryan as the coach, he had two chances to fire him already - after last season when he was hired and after this season. The Jets performance in 2014 is as much a reflection of Idzik as it is Ryan. Your post is pure nonsense, just as over half the stuff said in this thread is nonsense, overreaction, and ignorance.

You are just a ray of sunshine. It must be hard going through life like that. Good luck with the things that really matter.

How the hell do you know that? The entire media has said 1000 times that Johnson told him that he had to keep Rex his first year, do you have some insight that the rest of the world doesn't? Maybe Johnson also told him he had to keep him last year too (it was Johnson who announced it in the locker room) but maybe you know better that that too? Please do fill us in.

You don't think GMs talk? Why wouldn't KC's GM Dorsey call other GMs and say that Sanders' agent was pulling crap? Add in that the news just apparently came out that Sanders had pins in his feet and the Jets likely said "No thanks and good luck." The Broncos, on the other hand , are putting everything on this season before Manning is done.

Well, there is your answer. Quoting the media for substantiation. As if an ounce of that BS, quoting "unnamed sources" is remotely accurate. We really don't know a damned thing as to how Idzik feels about Rex, nor what Johnson wanted.

Depends on how it's structured it makes sense to reward Pace for last year and to also include a team-friendly second year assuming he doesn't drop off. Hopefully a fat roster bonus that won't count against the cap (but will count towards required minimum spending) is included.
