I disagree. Almost every time a team "updates" its uniforms, they end up worse than the one before. Look at the hideous Broncos unis....and look at most of the newer unis in the league: Jags, Titans, Bucs, Texans.....would you call any of those uniforms good? Most of them look like World league teams (remember that short-lived disaster?). Classic is best.
Good point. All 32 teams should negotiate with the NFL on having the modern helmets but color swapped instead of using old helmets for throwback uniforms. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get that the NFL looks to youngsters for fashion sense. Just like the pop world looks to Justin Beiber. It may sell, but it's wrong nonetheless. Leave my jersey alone. I don't need "dope". Btw I know exactly what dope means, it was a mocking query. _
Why else would it be an issue, then? I never paid close enough attention to notice whether they were modern helmets with old logos or old helmets with old logos. But if it's the latter, then there should be no reason not to allow it unless they just don't want throwback uniforms in general. I made an assumption, everybody does from time to time. There would be no reason that the paint on the outside of a helmet would affect its safety, and since the throwback uniforms are banned for safety reasons, naturally I assumed it was because of the helmets, as nothing else makes sense. Relax.
The dark blue jerseys were meh but the white jerseys weren't bad imo - kinda UCLA-ish. ^^^ Those are flat out gross. The New York Wintergreens.
I completely agree. Those jerseys look terrible; they should just stick with these Namath-era jerseys. Newer is not better.
We've seen quite a few turnarounds across the NFL that were jump started by a uniform scheme change. I think we're about ready for one. Maybe go solid black/green numbers/logo(home) &solid white/black numbers green logo). This franchise is about being physical & quite often playing the villian..what says Rex's D & sons of anarchy more than some black?Black & dark green is a pretty killer combo when it's done right. The Helmet could be metallic black w/ the old "swoosh" logo in green. Now THAT'S slick.
Anyone pining for a brand new uniform is more worried about a fashion show than they are about the team winning a championship. You're exactly the type of fan that ownership exploits for money, allowing them to continue to be mediocre yet profitable. There is nothing wrong with our uniforms (except for the all-green abomination they force on us a few times a year).
Im sorry but we can we please stop it with the new uniforms bullshit. What are we 13 years old? Stick to what we have, its the best in the league, but of course everybody wants to change it. The 80's uniforms are fun but should be used as an alternate once maybe twice a year at most, they are no where near as classy as the ones we wear now. I absolutely do not want Nike to touch the Jets uniforms, they have already made them worse without even changing the base of them. It looks like they ran out of the same color so they have 4 different patches of green on the uniform including that horrific belly patch. (they've done this to all the teams) I can't wait til Nikes contract is up. They are tasteless and juvenile, their designs look like some shit a 5th grader would come up with. Now let's shut up and just be content we have the best uniforms in the game.
EXACTLY !!!!! Extortion from the fans for absolutely nothing in return. The NFL is The Greed League. GB, Oak, Cle, KC, Dal, SF, Wash, Chi, Indy never changed their uniform scheme. Not sure what other teams have remained without changing at all. San Diego maybe? The Jets actually got it right by going back to the old style. Guess who followed suit after that? The Giants. The Giants hate being outshined by the Jets. So they switched back as well. The more they keep changing unis, the more money they can extort from the silly fans who think they have to have these new duds(pun intended).
Dallas, SF, Green Bay, Oakland, the Colts and Washington have made big changes through the years. Also, San Diego has made numerous changes.
Tasteless and juvenile are what kids want theses days. It's what sells. And that is truly unfortunate. We have some of the classiest uniforms in the league, get it back to one green and leave them alone forever. And I agree, can't wait till the Nike contract is up. _
