Their offense should be way less potent than what we're used to. Brady is on the decline and although he'll still be good, h Holmes will get some interest, but in my opinion the offers he'll be getting will be 1 year vet minimum "prove-it" deals where he has to compete for a roster spot and show that he's more than just the injury-prone low-production guy he has been the last couple of years. He's definitely not a receiver that you assume is going to be successful, because of how much he's struggled recently. His counter-argument will be that he was amazing with the Steelers, he had lousy QBs throwing to him, and that he was playing through injuries but now he's all better and ready to be the old Holmes again from the Steelers years. That will be enough for teams to be willing to see what he's got, but they're not going to pay him like the star he once was.
It's very obvious what's happening. Rex needs a top corner. Our GM won't give him one. Setting him up to fail to bring in his own head coach next year.
Ridiculous conspiracy. Idzik would have just fired Rex if he hated him enough to sacrifice the good of the team. Our GM isn't insane. In fact, I think he's the opposite.
So a GM who could've fired Rex and hired his own guy kept him to risk his own job by setting Rex up to fail? Let's just go ahead and forfeit now
Who is asking Idzik to sign every Tom Dick and Harry, how about filing one of the 8 holes with someone because so far Decker is only upgrade,Breno is equivalent or worse to Howard.Everyone who is defending Idzik now will be blaming him if we go 4-12
Well u can thank Jets management for that, they wanted nothing to do with Revis had they wanted him back Revis would be in a Jets jersey not a Patriots one and that's on Idzik and Woody. They want nothing to do with anybody with talent who deserves to be paid.We only give big money to guys like Holmes Sanchez and Pace ,I'm sure we will lose Wilkerson at some point to
Old regime your talking about, who paid Holmes, Sanchez and Pace? It was Tannenbaum, not Idzik. As for Revis, why would we want to revisit that nightmare of holdouts/signing, him and his fat uncle sean only want one to two year deals now, his fat uncle is running the show
Darrelle Revis uncle Sean Gilbert pioneered the hold out and move every few years strategy in the mid to late 90's. He sat out an entire season in order to make the point that he was going to play where he wanted and for the price he wanted. The Revis negotiating posture didn't come out of thin air. It was a product of careful planning and deliberation.
Pats signed Brandon Lafell ,wow the Pats are looking to make a run while we are looking to save our money for no reason
Whoever doubts what I wrote please supply other information or deal with Walls starting. I might not post here much but I am so livid right now because I love the Jets so much. I have been in agony the last few nights my girlfriend thinks I'm a new man with the way I've been acting towards our free agent strategy.
I live with my girlfriend okay? And she cooked a amazing meal and I took one bite and I said I don't taste a cornerback in this beef
Its just common sense, if he didn't like him he'd fire him by now and pick somebody new. It makes no sense for him to leave his coach without something he'd perceivably need with the only purpose of making him look bad. Not liking a contract? sure, thats a reason. To sabotage a coach? why bother when theres an easier way to be rid of one- by firing them? Occum's razor dude, why a convoluted work around for something as easy as signing a pink slip?
It figures that you have no clue why the Jets did not sign Revis when you have no idea who Sean Gilbert is and that he is Revis' uncle. How old are you? 15? 18? Reading this thread is like Groundhog Day. The Jets don't want to spend money. Idzik/Woody are cheap. Idzik wants Rex to fail. Revis. Revis. Revis. There are holes to fill. Give_________player whatever he wants. If the Jets overpay for one free agent, they will overpay for every player on the roster they want to retain over the next two seasons. If DMC gets $8-10 millio, what does Wilks get? Snacks? Ivory? That mentality, trading up, and poor drafting in the middle and late rounds is what depleted the talent on this team. Sanchez, Holmes, Revis, Cromartie ,Harris to name a few were all overpaid. Going for one year fixes and losing players like a revolving door doesn't work either. Idzik is trying to build a team and the philosophy is not to overpay. I see nothing wrong with that.
