thats not a bad thing, i like kerley but if we are at a point where he is expendable that would point to success at the wr position.
Or we won't re-sign Nelson. Kerley is a slot receiver. Neither Lee nor Cooks is limited to that role although both of them could probably play it.
It was an experiment. Coples is almost 290 he started to adjust towards the end of the year we still need a speedy pash rusher. Everyone was shocked and dumbfounded when we drafted Sheldon. Obviously he is a beast and we're all happy now but no one can say they originally called it a great pick.
no he is not. all his guaranteed $ is on the first 2 years, he is cuttable with no cap hit after 2015
Just because you have 4 or 5 capable receivers doesn't mean you have to run 4 or 5 receiver sets all the time? Its called a rotation. If you dont have a good core of guys you're screwed when one goes down. In Marty's offense you need 3 at all times and 2 more rotating in.
The Jets have more quality 3-4 defensive linemen than any team in the NFL at this point. Wilkerson, Richardson, Harrison, Coples, Douzable and Ellis. That's ridiculous depth for a 3-4 team. You could argue that the last 3 names on that list while lacking in star power is still better than what most 3-4 teams put on the field.
Lankster, Walls, Jarrett, Allen, Trufant have been doing an excellent job. Receivers aren't in the NFL to tackle.
I think Hill has one final shot this year.....I just can't see him getting cut this training camp. Maybe we trade him on draft day to move up in the draft somewhere or for a day 3 pick since there will be teams who want to gamble on his upside but I just can't see him departing any other way in 2014.
well his cap hit is 8 mil in 2016, now i hope he is worth that money and if he is,great, if not we can restructure and have some leverge since we have his replacement on the roster or we can cut him if its been a total bust. at that point the rookie will becoming into his 3rd season and will have been developing nicely(hopefull) and have a rapport with the qb(whoever it is) 1 eye to the future, fill needs in f.a. and stock talent in the draft. what happens in march shouldn't influence what happens in may
i think hill is a t.c. cut. i don't see him making the final 53, he would have to be the #1 or #2 wr to stay and i don't see him making that jump. it would be great if he did though
I think he'll be our no.4. We are just scaring him with these whispers to get him motivated to play for his life this training camp. I think there could be a slim market for the guy though even in this deep WR draft just because of his size and speed and there will be some team who think they can take him and have him "click".
If the Jets bring Hill to camp and he looks anything but bad there's a chance they can trade him before the final cuts.
if we sign another fa wr… we would be the only team in the nfl with two starting wrs that were free agents…. sorry for the misspelling as i literally am going to do this on the top of my head. Nah I played receiver and they never let us on special teams. An UDFA receiver or a later round receiver yeah they play special teams in the NFL if they have to. But if you think a team is not going to draft a receiver in the first round because it effects a gunner on special teams.. Lol I don't know what to tell ya.
