Good stuff... I believe the Jets really want this to be about Geno, which is why the Vick stuff doesn't make sense to me. Grab Shaun Hill and move on. CB- DRC is the move here IMO...one of the top cover corners last year, he'd be a nice fit with his athleticism alongside Millner. OG- A tough one to predict, I still believe they will sign a vet to challenge for a spot with the young kids. S- I truly believe the Jets have a ton of faith in Allen and I do too...another year under his belt, he can become that solid hybrid safety. RB/WR/TE- Talent, talent and more talent. I'd expect the Jets to address these 3 needs in the draft as well, with WR the #1 priority, a blocking TE type in the later rounds and sprinkled in there, grabbing a RB that fits what they are looking for.
Nothing that we read about the Jets interest in various players is worth anything at this point. This is a very deep WR class and the Jets picking 18th means they will be throwing up smokescreens all over the place as to their intentions on that pick.
You mean Jets FO are not working around the clock fulfilling all those holes on the roster? And WITH ALL THAT CAP SPACE!!! whf!!! SInce when are we satisfied with mediocrity. There are money to spend and we are missing on all the FAs? This is unacceptable
To be honest, I don't think WR will be a problem for them. This draft is loaded with WRs and so I expect Brady will get a reasonable selection of weapons. I do however think that their pass defense will be suffering. Losing Wilfork is bad, he won't be easy to replace through the draft.
Manish Mehta CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie visiting Jets today. I'm told Rex Ryan's head may explode if #NYJ doesn't sign him. Figuratively, of course.
Who does Mehta have inside Jets who not only knows about RR, but can also make accurate prediction of what will happen to his head. Seriously, how can you believe anything this jackass says after this?
What exactly is he joking about: that DRC is visiting Jets; that RR's head will explode or that he's got sources inside the Jets? Or maybe "Figuratively" was a joke? His big Mr. 60-minutes Jets insider is currently a coach in CLE; another is cornerbacking in NE. Mehta knows nothing. Guessing, re-tweeting and outright fabricating shit is the only way he can survive.
Great news indeed. The more I hear about Cooks, the more I like him. Would make a nice compliment to Decker IMO. Decker - Cooks - Kerley - Nelson - Hill... Not bad
Well its pretty clear DRC is visiting today according to multiple sources but I think he's joking about his head exploding lol I think he's just referring to the fact that we don't have a corner and Rex apparently wanted Revis back.
I would expect to see them re-sign Edelmen today or tomorrow..I read earlier they are working hard on it..of course that's what all the bad teams do, sign and re-sign FAs. Denver, NE, Baltimore, GB, the list goes on.
Cro still hasn't signed with Arizona would be nice if we could get them both here to play. Wonder if the family thing would be any type of incentive for Cro to come back for less money.
As for Edelmen he hasn't been mentioned as a target for the Jets. I think we have a similar player in Kerley. We really needed someone like Decker, a big guy who can make plays in the red zone. It looks like we'll probably draft a Wr. One guy we do have on our roster has all the intangibles and that's the reason we drafted him: Stephen Hill. Size, speed, blocking ability. He hasn't proven he's a good football player. The guy is still a project. If the Jets cut him he'd be signed probably by New England in a minute. Don't count him out he could still be a very good player if healthy. Or another Gholston.
Agree. Doubt Stephen Hill suddenly become good but if he and Milliner and Smith became pro bowl level players Jets would make the playoffs. Pipe dream but a wish. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
He should. With a $30M 'cap friendly' signing bonus he's sucking up almost half of the $ set aside for the offense. Maybe let him have one more player?
I don't think Pettigrew actually came to visit us did he? Pretty sure we just had conversations with his camp. Last word was we never even made an offer after hearing his priice tag.
Wasn't just him. There are a lot of reports, including sources coming from Denver, that he was neve offered that deal Edit: I should have phrased that differently. The actual deal was denied, but the deal was not what everyone claims to think it was. Here's a good explanation: "It also should be noted that included in the $10 million, first-year money to Rodgers-Cromartie was a $5 million signing bonus that would have carried future salary cap ramifications and made it extremely difficult for the Broncos to release the cornerback after the first year. So Rodgers-Cromartie would have made $16 million after two years. And then it would have been $24 million over three years. That’s the deal Rodgers-Cromartie turned down. The other $30 million over the final three years was essentially fluff." A bullshit ass deal long term and no where near worth $57 million
All I saw was that they were in communication with him, didn't see anything about him coming in for a visit
