DR imo the greatest Jets player of all time. So don't forget that just because he's playing for them. And probably just one season. I actually have a Jets #24 jersey but a Ty Law one. And he was most famous as a member of NEP. Hopefully Revis will go into the HOF as a Jet. So don't shit can it.
There are only a small handful of Jets player jerseys worth buying. The last worthy one was Wayne Chrebet. We all know Namath is always going to be worthy enough to buy and wear and/or frame. My list of worthy jerseys: Namath Chrebet Klecko Gastineau Clifton Maynard Boozer Snell pretty much anyone from the SBIII team Toon O`Brien Walker I think thats about all I would ever buy if I was to ever buy one again that is. I suppose if you have some sort of fetish with a certain player, then go ahead and buy one. Since there is no longer any loyalty from players and/or management, it just ain`t worth spending a penny on anything authentic. Replica jerseys can always be used for rags since they are relatively cheap and cheaply made. Personally I only wear Jets hoodies or shirts with no affilliation to any players aside from one hoodie that has a Thomas Jones #20 affilliation. I basically wear them when I`m doing housework outside. They are almost ruined and once they are, they hit the trash and I won`t purchase anymore. Yes, we all know I`m boycotting this team. I'm going to keep mine hidden for now. There's a chance he has a career year with the pats, they don't want to pay him the 20 mil he's due next year, he's cut and we get him back next offseason. I know it's not too likely but he should be a Free Agent next year and if he is I really hope he gets a homecoming with the jets. If that happens I'm glad I won't be the idiot who burned his jersey because my favorite teams front office didn't even make him an offer.
You can not rebuild a young team like the Jets are, and have a Cornerback getting 12 million a year. Of course the Jets didn't seek him out because he is totally selfish and you can't build a team around a cornerback. I will say sadly that it makes perfect sense for him to go to New England, because the only teams willing to pay that much for a CB are teams on the cusp of a championship, and at that, it would only be for a year or two at max. Honestly, I think the guy has a shitty attitude and lacks humility. I bought one really nice authentic jersey of his and a white replica the year before his breakout season. I felt like nostradamus the next year, though I will admit I had no idea he'd be THIS good. However, after that hold out situation I was reluctant to wear it, even when he was still on the team. I'll stick to the Martin, Chrebet, Mangold jerseys.
