Yeah but he's still decent. And there's not that many great options out there at TE. I say we bring him back one more year.

Id probably take Ebron. The tight end talent drops off pretty big after amaro and sefarian-Jenkins, and I doubt either will be available with our second pick. I also think Ebron is safer

My gut says to go with Ebron. My minds says go with anyone else given our history with first round TEs.

Oh snap, you went all mutual fund warning on him.

Seriously though I think he is forgetting that right now their top receiver is out talking contract with other teams, top TE was injured again and is still rehabbing and I believe half of their RB combo is also a FA

Didn't Lee drop a ton of passes last year and don't we already have that problem?

It would be funny if Brady told management to gut the offense to load up on defense and he'll handle offense himself.

I haven't found anything new on the DRC front. Anyone find anything solid? This waiting has me a bit anxious.

I do like the signings/resignings thus far, but now into the 5th day of free agency, there are still multiple spots to address. Here's what I would like to see still:

Veteran QB: There are some decent options as far as veterans go. Jason Campbell, Shaun Hill, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Michael Vick are still out there. I would tend to prefer any except the latter. I'm assuming Sanchez gets cut, but the days are inching closer to the bonus he's due..

OG: This is probably what is most concerning right now. Winters didn't look good last season, but I guess he'll get a shot to improve in 2014. But RG is wide open; can Will Campbell or Oday Aboushi be trusted?... Disappointing to see so many guards go already, but Travelle Wharton was one of the league's best last year and is a guy worth bringing in on a 1 or 2 year deal They need to get somebody here.

CB: Another spot where many guys have gone, unfortunately. DRC turned down a 6yr/54M deal with Denver and I wouldn't feel comfortable giving this guy even close to that... Unless his asking price somehow goes way down, I might prefer they pickup a guy like Walter Thurmond and go to the mid rounds of the draft to add more talent. I wouldn't mind our Cromartie being brought back either. Also hopeful Dee Milliner and Darrin Walls take the next steps in 14'

S: Again, I wonder how highly the team values Antonio Allen. I'd like to think he can be a starter as he showed at least fairly in his first shot last season, but I'd also like to see someone signed. Chris Clemons is still out there... Bet he can be had for just 2 or 3M per year and would be an immediate asset in coverage.

RB/WR/TE: The skill positions... Still need talent and playmakers here... I would like to see them use the 3rd-5th rounds of the draft to pickup a guy like Charles Sims or James White who can contribute in the passing game as well. I still have hope for Goodson too... I would also prefer drafting a WR to team with Decker and the other guys. Brandin Cooks would seem to make a nice compliment... Glad Pettigrew wasn't signed for that much money. In general, glad that Idzik has avoided big overpays to this point as well.. TE is another position that I'd like to see addressed early in the draft whether it be Eric Ebron, Troy Niklas or C.J. Fiederowicz... Also, when the season gets closer, I'd look into Dustin Keller's health and consider bringing him in on a minimum, non-guaranteed deal if the TE position is still worrisome.

You guys call it "overpaying" but don't seem to realize that in todays NFL that's what good players who can help team win make.If we plan on building thru draft only we are gonna be here for 4 straight years we are not Seattle. There not being overpaid that's just what they get on open market

He was great in Arizona as well, he struggled in Philly because they tried to play him in the slot and also played more zone then man. DRC thrives on the outside in man coverage.

He was asking Denver for a pretty big contract everyone was happy we didn't overpay for anyone but I think we are gonna overpay for him because we are desperate now

No need to panic at safety or corner back,,plenty of warm bodies still available,,,,,Darrell Ray,,,,,Justin Miller ( returns kicks also ) Schaefer Suggs,,,Kenny Shroy ,,,,,Bobby Jackson,,,,,Damien Robinson ( great guy to go hunting with ) , Arron Glenn ,even Ronnie Lott and Ed Reed are both readily available or my personal favorite from the university of Hawaii ,,,, Rich Miano
Plenty of time to low ball these guys and get them at a bargain price !

Yeah I would be really disappointed if we offer him anything close to the 56m that Denver did.

@RichCimini: Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg attended WR Brandin Cooks pro day yesterday (Oregon State). #Jets have been "all over him," per source. Good news!

I definitely believe the move is to get a quicker type WR...in the mold of Cooks, Lee or Beckham...either of those three I'd be elated with actually. My order would be

    Beckham, Lee, Cooks though.
