He turned down 9M+ from the Broncos. I'm guessing people think he's stepping down from that number at this point.
It seems like the guys we've heard nothing from are the guys that we are actually interested in. For example the days leading up to FA the Jets were not one of the many teams interested in Decker the Colts was almost a unanimous prediction. Word got out that we were going after Strief after Howard left and we got Breno. We were supposedly the front runner for Verner and Davis yet weren't interested in Verner at all. Idzik keeps things under control that is for sure.
He turned down a 6 year $54 million offer from the Bronocs so I would guess he was expecting more than $9 million per year. That price may have gone down the last few days as teams have signed CBs and left the CB market. But maybe he expects more to play for the Jets? regardless it looks like a horrible decision on his part to turn down that offer from the Broncos.
Because you're speaking from a practical point of view. Sadly, athletes aren't always the most practical people. Throw in greedy agents that are trying to squeeze the last nickel out of a team and things can go in a bad direction very quickly...
Guys, DRC himself has denied the reports that he was offered that deal from Denver. It was never real. 8mil per should get the job done.
I feel like we should divide up the receiver conversations and the db conversations lol make it easier for everyone
kyle wilson has one year left on his contract.. don't be surprised even with a DRC..we still draft a cb rd 3 or after
He is. And they can schredded up the middle with TE's and the run game. Kinda like what the Jets did the last time they played...
I didn't think that Walls was too far away from being a decent starting CB. He was pretty close in coverage, sure he got beat but not that much off the play than some of these guys getting the big bucks. Maybe give him a shot in training camp (we already know that Kyle Wilson can't cover and when he's in there the smarter teams try to exploit it). So I'd skip Rogers-Cro for that big price he had a good year with Denver but was only ok with Phila. If Cro is willing to sign a one year deal for 3 to 4 than bring him back and draft a few other Dbs.
