pettigrew was overpaid so be happy we didn't get him this is the time where idzik hopefully shines. this is where you find bargains that help your team go from good to great. i'd much rather have a bunch of unflashy, bargain moves that help this team overall than have 1 big flashy signing. i think idzik believes that too

Hey, I wanted to get feedback on a conspiracy theory that's been brewing in my mind (scary thought, that) about the Revis situation. While Revis was on the team, there were a ton of leaked stories from "unnamed sources". Usually from Mehta. After Revis was shipped to Tampa, the Jets stories became far less. However, the Tampa media was treated to news of discord in the Bucs' locker room cited by "unnamed sources". Ultimately this led to the jettisoning of Coach and QB. Even now, folks like Mehta seem to have a lot of inside information on the Revis' status. Is it possible that Revis was identified as the mole/rat/rodent of your choice by the Jets and that no one wanted him back poisoning the team? Is it also possible that Tampa came to the same conclusion? I know I'm thinking kinda paranoid here, but it makes it easier to swallow the pill of Revis being in a Pats uniform if I believe he is scum and will be a cancer in Foxboro.

Late round picks and cap space? We aren't even talking about that, not even close. I am refuting your opinion that you cannot find starters late in the draft. Now that's ridiculous. That is always possible but I am thinking they would not have had him in for a visit if they did not at least like his game. I believe the numbers issues is probably more likely.
Hopefully Sanders does indeed reschedule. He's still my #1 off season target. Geno needs weapons that can extend plays and make tough catches.
If you think back in years with teams that have big money available at the start of free agency, the teams that use it..really use it with big signings? Never works..or rarely works. You never hear how that team went from 4 and 12 to 10 and 6 because they spent huge money to bring in stars. Except for the CB position which has many of us a bit confused, I cant think of a positions I would like the Jets to go from 30 something million in cap space to 10. While not being sure of the CB position and what his plans are, I really think he has a gameplan for three positions that are huge to upgrade...RB/WR and Tight End. Those are positions you can be frugile yet make splashes that really upgrade this team. With that said, Im really concerned about the entire secondary from safety to cb. Those positions, with the fantastic improvement of the DLINE the past few year is the difference between a solid defense and a great defense. Now if Idzik pulls something out of his ass to really upgrade the secondary? I would be very very very impressed....very.
Probably should cross Sanders off the list. Visited TB, Jax, KC and now will be going to San Fran. Edleman left San Fran without a deal, Cleveland going after him hard. Nicks - no word. Smith-raven My prediction - James Jones will probably be jet!

Buffalo spending big a couple of years back signing Mario Williams and others ... they spent a boat load in FA ... and sucked. Miami last year spent big on two new middle linebackers and a ton on Wallace ... they sucked. Atlanta spend a load last year in FA .. and yep ... sucked. I don't see the need to panic in March.
