LaFell would be a great addition. Not a burner, but can make the big play.

This is ok, because we are building through the draft.

Drafting CB high I would be pissed. Safety I could live with assuming it's a steal. Outside of some major player dropping in our laps (which I doubt) we have to go WR or TE in the first.

interesting. im a fan of Lafell. 6'3" great speed (4.54 40) can stretch the field very well.

Overthecap was showing $34.475M cap space but does not have Breno listed yet so to be on the safe side take that down to about $32M. Cutting Sanchez frees up $8.3M which puts the at $40.3M. Draft picks will probably take about $9.5M dependent upon the comp. picks rounds.
Leaves them just above $30M in cap space and would still probably need a vet QB.

If we have money left over on the cap does it carry over into the next off season?

Nobody has his salary listed but I would gamble that if Decker is only counting 4M against this years cap then Breno is probably not counting half that..not even worth thinking about.

I just figured a little over $2M knowing there is really no way it should be over that. When all is calculated it should still give them $30-$32M to work with.

There is carry over but they also have to spend an average of 89% of the cap. Not sure over how many years they calculate that though.

Something tells me Michael Vick is in play here. No news from his camp and no more news from us. We have all seen that nothing is being leaked from our organization now.

I can see us signing Vick and I would be all for it.

So we've had a lot of contact with LaFell's camp, a lot of contact with Sanders' camp, neither have been brought in... almost makes you wonder about the total silence surrounding Nicks...

if he can't start in oakland, which is the only pother place where he can conceivably walk through the door and be named starter like McCown in TB, than he's probably a Jet.

a chance to start is better than being a ABSOLUTELY being a backup somewhere.

I honestly don't think he will. Now, I've been wrong numerous times this off-season, but I just don't lol

Almost every team that has needed a backup has made their move. The few that are left are looking to the draft. Vick has stated that he might wait till the end of the draft to make his decision. If that's the case, it all depends on what we do with Sanchez. If we release Sanchez, teams are gonna want to take a flyer on Sanchez over Vick. In turn, it would leave us with no backup or competition, and I don't think we will be drafting one. Now Vick is left with a market of teams who A, either have made a move already in free agency, or B, just drafted a new guy. Well, in my theory we are not drafting a new guy and there aren't many more moves to be made in free agency other than Vick. Leaves it all up to Sanchez and his camp.

I don't think so either. He is visiting with the Colts and has stated that he would love to be thrown the ball to by Andrew Luck.

Don't forget - as Bradwaysux mentioned pages ago - Idzik can satisfy the cap's basement requirement by restructuring existing contracts so that they eat into this year's cap. Thus, you don't have to spend the money on Free Agents only.

We got Geno! Everybody wants Geno as their QB right? Lol! Seriously I think James Jones will be our other WR.

    LOL I know right?!

I think it will be Jones or Sanders and Sanders is slowly falling off the table. The fact that we did not reschedule a visit with him makes me think it is Jones.
