Sanchez was grossly overpaid(he got his money). It makes sense he would accept a much lower offer from the Jets. He is a proud overachiever and would love to prove the fans and media wrong. Based on what's left out there I hope we keep him.

Nice try, we get it that you hate the guy, but njunc started the conversation talking about the franchise record for TOTAL TDs. He had 20 total TDs in 2010. YOU decided sniffing only matter for TD passes. And again, whether that number is anything to brag about is irrelevant.

    Nice try, though, really.

Still Irrelevant, since you selected the one post I used combined TD's on when the bulk of my argument has been passing. I did address the combined rushing and passing, twice actually, to illustrate just how futile Mark has been over his career. Even in his big TD year, which acknowledged the combined TD stat, he was still only +6 TD's over turnovers, the best he's ever been.. So by trying to defrock my argument you actually reinforce my argument about how bad Sanchez really is. So yes, I'll concede maybe we were talking about combined, in a sense, but now you have to concede how bad Sanchez has been. A QB who's best year was +6 and over his career is -9 TD's to turnovers.

I really have no problem keeping Sanchez at a reduced rate. I think he's better than what's available (Schaub, Vick) and I think outside of the top 3 QB's in the draft the rest of the guys are a toss up.

I don't think Sanchez will want to stay if there is no chance at being a starter. With that being said, I hope they get something done and he stays.

Here's what scares me about this move,,,,,,,IMO they would not release Sanchez until they had another qb signed,,,,,,does this mean they sign the other qb today,,,say Vick,,,,,,,? Ugh I would rather restructure Sanchez than sign Vick,,,,,,,,we shall see

Has Sanchez's roster bonus kicked in? If it did, probably Sanchez is staying this year. There was no reason to give him that - Jets could have kicked him off the squad at the start of FA.

    -------------------------------------------

He did improve by miles last preseason, at least in terms of completion %. If he has learned anything, this summer is the time to show it. If he can show that he can actually take care of the ball, and move the chains, then there is no reason to kick him out of here.

No, we have until March 25th to cut him or restructure his deal.

Vick says he will wait until after the draft before even speaking to anybody..he won't be signed anytime soon.

I'm quoting this post from another thread and responding here as to not derail that thread

I find this quote to be interesting regarding Sanchez and his collapse. If we had continued to give him targets there is no way that he wouldn't have continued to improve. Especially with a good offensive coordinator.

The difference is that Sanchez never showed any sense of accuracy and that wasn't on his receivers. Throwing the ball into the dirt or five yards behind the receiver or three yards over their heads is not on them. Sure you can say they ran the wrong route once in awhile but he threw like that constantly.

Why do you make shit up to prove a point. This is the biggest fallacy on MS he actually throws a pretty accurate ball and can make all the throws. MS biggest issue is trying to do to much and he did not have a Megatron to bail him out on some poor decisions.

What I find funny is the people calling Mark inaccurate and a the same time calling Geno accurate.

The Jets ruined Sanchez, but dont worry about him, within the next five years he will be hoisting the championship on another team, mark my words. (no pun intended)

Yeah just like my Seahawks over Broncos prediction, I was wrong about that right? or the Eagles dream team not making the playoffs? or the Falcons not making the playoffs last season.

    I'm batting 1.000 boy.

That's the funny thing, I don't need to concede anything about Sanchez one way or the other.

I don't hate the guy, you do. I just find it funny that YOU have finally conceded that you mix and mismatch stats to support your hate or change the narrative to suit your fallacies.

Regular season stats when we're talking about every pass he's ever thrown, the always lol-worthy "dropped" INT made up stat. Now rushing TDs don't count as real TDs when talking about "sniffing" TDs.

We get it. You hate the guy.

Never change, you're a funny read.

Realistically Sanchez has very little shot at being a starter in the NFL, barring injury or the Oakland Raiders.

He should be looking to go to a team with a very good offense and a very good coordinator / QB coach where he can be secure as the #2 QB. That's his best opportunity to turn his career around and rebound. If he goes to the Raiders he'll be out of the league in another year or two. He needs his revival to be slow and steady, waiting for the opportunity to fall in his lap rather than force it in a bad situation.

Arizona Cardinals. Let Palmer play another year, Sanchez strengthens his shoulder for a year and learns the offense and next year battles it out.

No one ruined Mark. And it's not his receivers fault he overthrew them. Or tossed balls right at Dbs. And couldn't figure out defenses. It's too bad he has to probably leave after an injury. Before that he was very resilient and had only missed one game in four years due to injury. It's not impossible that Idzik might try to re-sign him if he thinks it makes financial sense. A good deal for Mark too because he has a better chance to start with the Jets than just about anywhere else. Geno is that inconsistent. But money or not he's played horribly and to me the Jets are better off without him.
