I doubt it too but damn that recieving core would be wild ... I think we would have to trade our 3rd and two 4ths and our 1st ... If we get a star in wakins and a soild starter in 2nd round with some depth in 5th 6th 7th not bad to me but its gonna be hard to pull off almost everyone wants wakins

Well Scott Chandler just resigned with the bills so Pettigrew may be more important.

Somebody earlier said the Daily News was saying the Jets were close to signing him and then of course Fansided reported he had already signed with the Jets so when I saw this just splashed in an ESPN blurb 10 minutes ago it seemed pretty typical of these things.

Cardinals signed Ted Ginn to a 3-year deal, team announced. As for Antonio Cromartie, sounds like it was more a feeling out meeting

Looking at our roster, does anyone else see Guard as the biggest weakness right now? I mean, Winters hopefully makes big improvements in year 2, but he was a liability last year, and even if he does pan there is nobody to start opposite him. I really think we need to bring in a solid veteran who we are confident can at least be a competent starter, and maybe even spend a high pick (2nd-4th round) on another lineman if one is there that we really like.

Obviously we can still use another outside threat or two, but I believe shoring up this offensive line and making it a strength again (don't waste Mangold's and Brick's later prime years) will make our current crop of offensive weapons look pretty good. Our backs are there, and we've got three solid NFL receivers, and possibly 4 if Hill makes a big jump in year 3. He has all the tools, just lacks the experience.

In terms of our defense, I like the front 7 a lot....the only position I would consider is a linebacker if a can't miss prospect falls to us (outside LB who can start right away or a middle LB who can replace Harris in the next year or two). Other than that, just keep an eye out for a good value starting caliber CB or safety/safeties.

Does anyone think Antonio Allen can/will be a good starter?

Are you insane? Or just drunk? You never make a trade up like that unless it's for a franchise QB. Especially not with the thin roster that we have.

    Geebus.

What next, you guarantee we win the SB next year?

Saw this tidbit yesterday on WalterFootball before Decker actually signed:

"Hearing from a league source that Decker is seriously intrigued by Jets, wants to prove that he's not a product of Peyton Manning." - Kristian Dyer, Metro New York

Good to see he's out to prove something despite signing a nice contract

I think this means we are clearly going to draft a receiver in the first round. Eric Decker will take the reigns for two years until our number one pick develops into a number one option. They say you cant judge a rookie until year three so sounds like a perfect contract/fit. However I don't see this as cut and dry a two year contract, if he outplays expectations he may very well be worth the 8 mil a year especially since the cap is going to balloon and the price for good receivers will only go up. If he develops into a number one guy it will be well worth the cap hit.

Damn, I liked him. Need to get FA CB...not drafting another one to start with a learning Milliner.

We need a corner but your right lets not forget about Walls he played some quality ball last year, maybe all we need is a player to compete for the starting job. Or maybe Cro comes back, I would like that too.

Browner will probably sign with the pats

You have to think we make a move for a corner tonight if we are going to go after
anyone with a name attached to them.
