You guys are trashing on pettigrew ..hes a great player hes not a stop gap .. Do you expect 10/10 ranked players on our roster for every position is realistic? No its impossible for any team to have that.. You guys are expecting like graham or julis thomas to appear out of nowhere and be on our roster Calm down pettigrew is great

cumby less so, I think the team would genuinely like him to be a valid receiving threat at TE for a while if an Ebron doesn't come along but of course they aren't holding their breath and relying solely on that occurrence. but yeah, worse comes to worse, they could cut Sudfeld or something. It'll all sort itself out with time.
Guy has the talent to be a star! Only problem is he's nuts. When he was on the titans every time he'd come home he'd get in trouble. He signs with the jets he's always home.
Here are my thoughts on what's transpired so far: Was disappointed to see Austin Howard signed away by Oakland, but at $6M per year, I'm glad the Jets didn't match. Seems like a lot for a player of his caliber. Very different positions obviously, but it's funny that Alterraun Verner and T.J. Ward each signed for less money annually than Austin Howard... Giacomini seems like a decent pickup, though I'd like to see the contract figures. I wonder if Oday Aboushi will be competing for the job with him. I like the Decker signing. I think adding someone like Brandin Cooks or Marquise Lee in the 1st would make for a nice group of receivers. I have mixed feelings about Pettigrew... I think it would depend on what the contract looked like.. FS Chris Clemons is still out there... He's a guy I'd like to see in green and I couldn't imagine it would be a bank-breaker. They really need to bring in an OG... I would not like to see the Jets enter the season with Will Campbell and Brian Winters as starters. They at LEAST need a veteran presence/depth. I wonder what they'll do at CB... Captain Munnerlyn seems like a decent option the more I look into it. I wouldn't be upset if Cro was resigned either.
Yeah, I'm a firm believer that if you suck, it's on you. Stafford didn't make BP miss his assignment, drop a boat load of passes and fumble consistently. Pettigrew can be a good player, but he alone has major work to do on his own game.

Backups don't play so it doesn't matter how good they are. Except maybe in the late periods of a 3rd preseason game.
So check this out. Idzik plays the game conservatively, in fact, the polar opposite of Tannenbaum. IF the Jets trade up for a player now, with that conservative track record, I would be ecstatic. It would mean they absolutely cannot move forward without this player. Doubt this happens but just saying.
