It's also probably good for SJU that Nova lost. SJU wins today, beats SJU tomorrow. They are in the finals. Can easily win it.
Jay Wright has no clue how to guard the Perimiter. Crighton drew up the blueprint how to beat Villanova and Seton Hall just followed it. Jay Wright has no clue how to guard the Perimiter.
Guarding the perimeter has always been Villanova's problem under Jay. I'll still take him as our coach 10 times out of 10. Ugly loss. Bell 0-8, Pinkston 3-10 from the line. That's why they lost more than anything.
That last 1 seed is completely up for grabs. I believed Villanova controlled its own destiny. Now that's gone obviously. I still don't think a 1 is out of the question, but it's very unlikely at this point. Kansas, Wisconsin and one of the ACC teams are the biggest threats.
There are quite a few handicappers I hear that like the winner if the SJU game to win the tournament, this was yesterday before the loss by Nova. There really wasn't a ton of value on the Redmen but they were the darkhorse pick. For the record they also liked Cuse and Pitt in the ACC
I don't think Kansas will get it. I could see Wisco but I would think one of the teams from the ACC. Probably whoever wins the tournament.
Every team has a problem. Ours is defending the three. I'm not saying I'm happy about it, but this team is 28-4 this season and a virtual lock for a 2 seed. I think Jay's done fine...
This is NOT a team problem: This is a coach problem. Jay Wright can not defend the perimeter whether it is Creighton this year, or Marquette and West Virginia of years past. This is a significant issue that he simply REFUSES to address. It absolutely makes me insane: Jay Wright does so many things well, but he refuses to address this problem.
Talk about laying an egg. 10/22 on Ft's. Getting absolutely killed on the board, so Lavin keeps our one decent big guy on the bench. Especially, with Nova losing I thought SJU would come out and win this one pretty easily. Boy was I wrong.
Louisville up 58-16 on Rutgers at halftime. Lunardi finally starting to catch on. He had them as a 4 a few days ago (even after they blew out SMU and UConn), now they're a 3.
SJU made it close, but the refs really killed us. If anyone wants to the watch the replay of the last minute...it was tough to watch.
