He isn't playing for the Yankees. I think your source might be off

Hard to swallow but it is what it is. I wish him misery, pain and tears. I still don't wish him any injuries but I hate him with my whole heart.

he still has a physical correct? Let's say he fails that, does he go back to Tampa Bay?

and more importantly, do we get our third round pick back?

Reports/theories are that it's a "feeling out" period with a long term extension to happen during the season. Theory is that Revis has wanted to be a Patriot since he basically forced the Jets' to trade him. He declined taking a paycut so Tampa/Oakland refused to pay the 16/year. First thing he does as a FA is take a paycut.

I honestly don't care that he's on the Patriots. What does bother me is that he took a 1 year deal. It's almost like if he just wanted to do it to go against what every Jet fan wanted. I'm sure that there was other teams offering him $12 million but he took the Patriots to shit on the Jets.

Like I said, doesn't bother me that he's on the team. There's only so much that he can do the two times we play him.

It is a bit annoying as it makes the Pats better but its not like a 1 year rental of Revis was going to turn us into a superbowl contender when the issues are not on that side of the ball - he makes perfect sense for the Patriots and kudos to them for a great signing but it would not have made any sense for the Jets and good for them for not putting a load of money into a 1 year stop gap - the only teams this should annoy are the other contenders. What would have been the point with taking Revis for the next season - does anyone really think we are a SB challenger as we are? and if he comes in and plays well then we get stuck again in a cycle of demands and holdouts - no thanks - we got a 1st round pick and the DROY for losing Revis, the Bucs got nothing, so who did better out of managing that situation?

Also in terms of choosing the Pats - if Revis has decided he actually wants to try and win something and build a rep as something other than a Merc (you cannot tell me it hasnt hurt him seeing Sherman take his place in the spotlight) there are only about 4 or 5 teams he could go to and with Denver signing Talib make that 3 teams so when the Pats made him a solid offer why the hell would he say no?

They should have just under $5M and they may be able to make those moves to free up some more but unless they plan on having a bunch of 2 way players they are not going to have money to make another significant move and it seems you think they will be able to make multiple significant moves.
Any other money they free up is just going to need to be used to fill out the roster.

He pulled a Favre. Favre wanted out of GB and to go to Minny to stick it to GB, he had to suck it up in a year w/ a team he didn't want to play for then when free could go to the rival.

you think if the Bucs had been willing to pay him $16m he still would have wanted to leave? He was cut and went to a good team that is paying top dollar (unless you ca point to all those CBs out there getting significantly more than $12m a year?) - trying to paint this as some kind of masterplan is crazy

Revis is a brilliant guy(or his team is), who signs a deal like he did w/ no guaranteed money? that makes it easy to release a player.

Yeah, as if Woody dissing him and his people had nothing to do with it. They did not even try to keep him last year.

Well that can't fall just on Woody. Revis' agents/team haven't been the greatest people to work with considering they already had 2 previous holdouts for Revis on the Jets. It had been festering for a while now. Both sides let the relationship turn bad

This time around, they definitely didn't try to get him. And for that, if Revis was looking for a one year deal like this, I see why they didn't. Although Revis' team tried to use the Jets to up the price for Revis which was smart.

Yep. Everyone who felt great that the Jets did not even try to keep last year will react to this by putting all the blame on Revis, and add in that they hope he dies, or is over the hill and will not play well. As if Bill Belichik would be stupid enough to have paid him and him be over the hill.

And of course all those who said Revis would never take less than the $16 mil he got from TB last year? I don't expect to hear one of them say they were wrong.

You need to improve your reading comprehension. I did not say it JUST fell on Woody. But it is beyond question that Woody directed the Jets to not try to keep him last off season. And that i can understand if Revis is a little pissed at Woody. I would be.

What goes around sometimes really does come around, and I will be nauseous watching him line up in a Pats uni. Twice this coming season, and who knows how often after that?
