Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 15s With Steve Smith on way out of CAR, Panthers still talking to Hakeem Nicks. Offering deal worth about $4.5M/season. Badly need WRs seems cheap
obviously I hate seeing revis go to NE but as far as our moves go we have done a great job so far. We had a great day of signings and re-signings yesterday.
True but if the market is set at 4.5/season for Nicks, I think Idzik should take a long hard look. He is the only true #1 out of that group and has a ton of upside (maybe Sanders but I view him more as a solid 2, like Decker). Having Decker and Nicks on board for a combined 11.5mm (half a million less than Revis, I might add) would be awesome and could change the dynamic of this offense even before this year's draft. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 52s Filed to ESPN: New Orleans is trading RB Darren Sproles to Philadelphia, per source.
And another benefit of signing Nicks would be that when then have a WR duo tied up for a good 3 years at a farily low combined cost. Then if we draft a tight end, we now have potentially two wide receivers and a tight end locked up for about 14 million a year for the next 3 seasons That would be really good. I would honestly offer Nicks a 5 year 30 million right now.
In case anyone was confused that the #Jets overpaid for Decker RT @gambit1154 @DrewfromJersey Comps http://t.co/ujmZCVBlaI …
Nicks, Edelman, Jones, Sanders. When the dust clears, at least one of these guys is going to be standing there without a contract and will be forced to take less than 5 million.
I'm pretty sure the dust has cleared lol nicks is looking at a contract around $4.5 million right now.
Eric Decker isn't gonna make us a playoff team,we need a lot more parts then this, how about a saftey before there all gone
how much talent is too much? that just takes away touches from the other explosive players they have.
