Now that we've signed Decker, we have 3 out of our top 4 wide receiver positions on the depth chart filled. You could argue, however, that we still don't have a true number 1. So my question for all of you is, with the amount of needs we currently have, and the free agent crop currently available, what route do you believe we should take? Do we sign another free agent a la Emmanuel Sanders or James Jones, call it a day and draft BPA (while filling one of our needs) in the draft? Possibly targeting a TE like Ebron or Amaro? Or do we go WR in round 1 (deep receiver class) and fill our last receiver position that way? OR, do we sign another receiver AND remain open to drafting another in the first? Personally, I'd like to see us sign someone else (at a reasonable price like the Decker deal) and try to address as many of our needs as possible giving us the flexibility to truly draft BPA this May. Thoughts?

Meaning no true number one receiver. Unnecessarily sarcastic response btw, you obviously could infer what I was implying by the post. No need to be hostile

i say we get Sanders/Jones AND we draft a wide receiver in the 1st (we get ebron if he is still available) AND we should try to get sproles for cheap like how we got ivory. you need to surround our qb with some major weapons, lets see what we have here

    wr -
    decker
    sanders
    kerley
1st round - odell beckhman jr (probably)
    nelson
    hill

    te -
    jeff cumberland
troy nikolas (hopefully this is eric ebron)
    sudfield

    rb -
    ivory
    bilal powell
sproles (could use him in wide receiver situations too)

we don't have a true number 1 receiver, but there will be plenty of options. this is a pretty realistic situation, we can even improve on our OL too.

If we sign James Jones as well, I wouldn't be mad if we took a WR in the second round instead. However, if they took another in the first, I wouldn't be mad either.

Decker has the potential to be our number 1 that's why he signed with us because he wants that chance to prove he is ,he coulda went to a team with depth at Wr and a better QB

I think we try to get as much talent as we can, wide receiver or not. If that means picking up Sanders and drafting a wide receiver in the first round, so be it. The more the merrier. Plus, then we could cut Hill.

if we sign James Jones we can draft Ebron in the first then go get someone like Jordan Matthews, Jarvis Landry, Davante Adams, Martavis Bryant in the second.

but if it were up to me, I'd sign Jones then draft either Cooks or Beckham in the first. we need a polished receiver with burner speed, both of these guys ran a 4.3

    Hoping for Sanders/Nicks/Jones + Ebron, but I don't think he'll make it to 17.

    Yep. BPA at 18.

The only WR that is going to be there that looks like a star at this point is Lee. The other guys all have potential but some big questions also. I hope the Jets trade down if they're looking at anybody but Lee as a WR at 18. After him I kind of lump Cooks, Beckham and Moncrief together. Then Matthews, Adams, Robinson and Landry. The other WR's are really projects or seem less talented

What we do is let the market come to us if we get a good deal with jones, edleman, nicks, etc we take it.. Same thing for the draft imagine if Mike Evans is available. Way too early to be talking about what we should be drafting.

I agree with you here. Though as a caveat I'd personally argue that is Lee IS there at 18, he's got to be the guy with the possible exception of Ebron being available as well.

I think we will get a opportunity to trade down, especially if Ebron is available at 18. Dolphins, Cardinals, Chiefs and Packers all need a TE.

There's definitely a chance Evans drops to us. The Lions just picked up a true #2 receiver, and if the Bills draft Ebron and the Ravens find someone else in free agency or go in another direction, there's definitely a chance.

At this point, though, I'd love for Marquise Lee to be on this football team (assuming he's BPA at the pick).

I think you're exactly right. At this point in time with Decker in the fold do you think we let the wide receiver market play out a little longer, and focus on a position like cornerback where the top FAs have already been signed? What direction do you think we should look to now?
