Patriots get Revis on 1-year, $12M deal http://www.csnne.com/new-england-patriots/patriots-get-revis-1-year-12m-deal Time to pack away the fainting couches for another year. The Patriots made a free agent move that should muzzle the whining masses for a few weeks. Darrelle Revis is a Patriot and Bill Belichick pulled off a loaves and fishes miracle to get him in the fold. Revis took a pay cut. His deal is confirmed. He will make $12 million for in 2014 and then hit the free agent market again, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The addition of Revis erases the loss of Aqib Talib who signed with the Broncos Tuesday night on a six-year, $57M deal with $26M guaranteed.
It's just gonna be a one year rental, no way he stays with them long term. If he has a dominant season (which unfortunately he probably will have) he's gonna be right back to demanding some team pay him 16 million a year.
They still have 6 million plus cutting Wilson and Connolly which will add another 4-5 million. Then, they can try to extend Wilfork, Gostkowski, and McCourty to lower their cap values. The Pats still can make other significant moves if they choose to.
Pushing cap out. You'll eventually have to bite the bullet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
You're a little late on that man, it's being discussed in the Revis thread. No worries though, we signed Decker .
