Anyone know when the next press conference is?

I would absolutely love to hear what Idzik and Rex have to say, especially after this Revis signing.

Lol. The only thing that really pissed me off so far about Idzik's offseason was that we didn't sign Revis. 1 year at 12 million is fair for a player like Revis. I'd just love to know if we even made him an offer.

I just don't see Idzik as a GM that would drop serious coin, $12M, on a FA pushing 30 with no real promise down the road.

Idzik wants his own 22 yr old Revis he can draft for $2M/yr and develop into part of the Jet fabric for the next 10 yrs.

The Jets aren't close enough to be dropping huge dollars on super stars who are a few years away from hanging up their cleats.

A press conference to explain why they didn't sign a certain player? Please get off the Revis bandwagon. Tampa went 4 and 12 with him and let him walk. If the Jets play more zone so be it. Other teams get by very well without this particular player.

Jets did very, very well standing pat with Revis shit flying all over the place.

Trust me - with 20% of the cap space locked up between Tommy boy and Revis Island, Pats are not going anywhere next year. They will make playoff, if Tom Brady's aging doesn't make their offense play at worse level than they did this year. That's about as far as they are going to go; Superbowl? Don't even dream about it in your wildest dream. That ain't happening with Patriots. Mark my words.

I'm not saying Idzik is wrong. I think he's done a hell of a job so far. I'm just curious to hear what they say.

And when did I say we need a press conference to talk about Revis? I said it would be cool to hear what they say in general especially after this Revis deal.

I can not believe that so many think the Jets should have gone after Revis, $12M for a year and an equivalent amount of headaches going forward for us. That would have been the worst move ever for the Jets, especially since he had no intentions of signing with us. We need youth on our team, period, and he isn't it. Let NE deal with the incipient cap hell they will get themselves into. I don't want that selfish, money greedy malcontent anywhere near a Jet uniform ever again. He is on the downside of his career, still a top tier but not the island man anymore, nor #1 either. We shall see.

We can game plan around him like they did to us, or better still have Hill sprint by his side all game long while we toss short yardage passes to Sproles for big gains.

Good job Idzik, getting a number #1 for a guy only one team wanted. Now, we will take the 4th from Tampa Bay, negotiate for Sproles, and see how NE will cope with that and Geno's running.

Why would we want Revis for one year? I would have been okay with a long term deal averaging 12 million, but a one-year deal is meaningless for a team that is just starting to rebuild/compete. Though we're building for the playoffs in 2014, we're building to really compete in 2015 and onward.

Not to see him wearing that fucking uniform would have been reason enough for me. And we want to build through the draft, but u can't fill every position of need with quality starters in one draft class.

We could've pushed off the need to find a #1 cb (absolute best case scenario #2 cb if Dee tears it up this year) to 2015 if we signed Revis this year.

I just want to know if we even made an attempt to sign him!

Fair enough, but Revis never wanted to come here anyway. His "interest" in the Jets was just a ploy by his agents to get the Pats to spend more money, per Cimini.

That said, I still think we may be signin Captain Munnerlyn, so we'll see.
