Then we throw on Dennard or whoever the Pats put up as the 2nd CB......Revis takes away a side but he's covering one guy. We add more weapons and then what?
The mantra of a tool with no real sources..... he always gives himself an out because even he knows he's full of crap
This FA period has run about 30 hrs. The Jets have been preping for a couple of months. They obviously have a plan. Revis was never in it. Idzik didn't prepare for all that time to blow it up on the first day because we fans get antsy.
Exactly, what if the Jets get Eric Ebron? Revis won't cover him. Spread the ball out and we can still put up points on the Pats
Maybe this is all part of the master plan for Revis to learn about New England and then resign with us next year.
No. Why sign him only to have him go down with a season-ending injury or string of injuries after all the other FA WRs are signed and the Jets passed on taking another WR in the draft because they were counting on him. Last season they needed to sign players like Austin because they didn't have the cap space. This year they do and have no need to sign him whatsoever.
Revis may be a good open tackler but he ain't catching a Dri Archer or he isn't alone stopping Chris Ivory running down the field. Revis is a very good player and someone we hope Milliner can even be half of but he's not this ultimate win by the Pats. He doesn't single handedly win them ballgames and you'd think he would the way people are going nuts about the guy.
Maybe you are right but so far the "plan" has been hard to figure out. So far the "plan" seems to be let all of the high end free agents sign elsewhere, roll around in a giant pile of cap space and see an increasing number of holes in the team emerge. I think we may be the only team that has actually gotten worse since the end of the season with losses of Howard, Cromartie, Holmes (still a better than nothing), etc. If that's the plan it's a pretty shit plan.
I've been hearing from a few sources that Decker signing will be announced tomorrow. Can't wait. We sign him, maybe another WR, draft a WR and a TE and our offense could be mighty scary.
Eric Decker? meh. Good receiver. Speed ok but not great, hands good but not great. Wouldn't mind if Idzik didn't grab him. Select, don't settle. What sucks (but was not surprising) was the Bucs releasing Revis and turning a 3rd round pick into a 4th rounder.
In all seriousness, this is exactly how Pats were beating us. And IMO was a big part why Revis was let go on the first place. Why deal with holdouts, constant $$ demands when at the end of the day having the guy does not translate into winning?
Decker would be good enough for me if this goes through. what i like about this guy is that I can see he and any one of the WR's we'll draft being a fearsome tandem. While i don't expect him to carry the team, he's no slouch remember, the best thing that can happen for a WR is that the attention of a coordinator is on another completely different target. wether thats decker or somebody else, Geno's caught between a promising young target, or a above average vet that knows how to play the position to the best of his abilities and can make difficult grabs, or even Kerley.
Have we been watching the same free agency? Select don't settle? Really? Lmao What would you call Idzik's plan so far?
He'll tell you his sources if it comes true. If it doesn't, well...... We are all left in suspense I guess. Wishing we knew
